I never watched perks of being a wallflower because I bought into the cringe culture bulshit around it and I have to say
Fuck all yall that movie is beautiful and tackles topics that nothing else was covering back then, like abusive homophobic parents, found family, male teenage mental illness, including ptsd due to sexual trauma and suicide, recovery, abusive relationships. All occurring in young people. Do you know how impactful that would have been to me if I saw it when I was younger? When I was going through much of the same things? But I stayed away because cringe culture had me convinced it was some cringey teen romance thing that sucked.
Anyway if you haven't given it the chance please watch perks of being a wallflower it's very good and meaningful even now as I'm older and out of school.
Let's face 2021 with some excitement, and leave 2020 with only good memories in our heads!

Seizure/flash warnings should be legally mandated for all media like I shouldnt have to deep dive the internet to see if I can watch a movie/show when the creators can put a warning on any of their teasers or abouts or at the beginning of the media like it's not hard to be inclusive considering a seizure could I dunno literally kill me

It's not hard or time consuming to be kind and accommodating to differently abled people. And I'm not just talking about the obvious wheelchair accessibility stuff. Even though you STILL haven't got that at all. I mean things like loud sounds, flashing lights, touching, words.
If you see someone wearing noise cancelling headphones at school, leave them alone. at a cafe? Leave them alone. Hell I wore noise cancelling headphones to a drag show! They are a useful tool to people sensitive to loud sounds. But when I first started utilising them I cannot tell you how many people seemed to take it as a personal offense. I'm not wearing them to ignore you or the scene I'm wearing them so I can be in that scene same as you. And NO you cannot wear them. Dont even touch them.
If you are creating a peice of media with flashing lights, a seizure warning at the beginning of the media, and in the advertisement isnt that hard and would save millions of people from having to search forever if they can enjoy that piece of media.
Touch. STOP TOUCHING PEOPLE!! You dont need to tap me to get my attention. You dont need to put your hands on me to get by me. If someone doesnt want to shake your hand or hug you, dont make it weird. Just move on. Dont be that guy.
If someone doesnt hear you the first time, dont get an attitude or get rude about it. Slow down your words, repeat yourself. Face them when you're talking to them. Dont be asshole. Really not that hard.
Stop being selfish and rude to us. Were just tryna fuckin exist and thrive same as you, we just do it a little differently. It's not hard to accommodate us in your lives and in your world.
