if Helsknight is trans, does that mean Wels is also trans? or in Wels' head the perfect knight just happened to also be a trans man/a "woman" who figured out they rlly weren't a woman at all-
Welsknight is So Incredibly Cis to me. He reads as someone for whom gender was never important enough to consider, or never a big enough part of his identity to think about {Of course I'm a guy what else would I be? Next question.}
I do absolutely love the idea that Helsknight popped into the world as a trans man / trans nonbinary, and Wels had to sit there for a minute and go, "Huh, so does that mean gender doesn't matter to be a perfect knight, or does this say something about my gender specifically?"
And then proceeded to once again avoid the gender question like the plague, but for New and Interesting "I refuse to introspect which is arguably why I have a helsmet in the first place" reasons.
