Okay, okay okay.First of all, if anything I do not see them as full brothers. History has taught me Romano might as well be fully related to Greece and only half to Veneziano (thank you Rome.)Their personalities clash a lot, Veneziano’s seen as tender, sweet, quite delicate too and you have Romano, a literal wrecking ball.Even though they are different, they’re still Italy together, right? That’s something, since they are the only nation like that.That’s some pretty heavy symbolism if you ask me.

Their cultural differences are way too important for them to get along.Northern Italians despite their southern brothers and many times I have seen them consider the south to be “the Ethiopia of Europe”.Same for the South, they think their northern brothers are stuck-up assholes.I could go on for hours but I’ll stop here.

Historical links, enough personality clashes for them to work, “big brothers” syndrome, yeah.As much as I hate referring to canon, it is said that Prussia has a crush on both Italies, and that Romano does not hate him as much as he hates Germany.
