“is it easier, or are you just scared to ask? queenie’s been sayin... never mind. why am i tryin’? you’ve never listened to me anyway.”
he knows that newt hasn’t even mentioned the subject to tina. though he’s unsure the witch would drop everything to live across the ocean, he’s sure if they had a conversation about it, she’d consider it. queenie’s been talking about their feelings for days, and it wasn’t any of his business, but he wanted his friends to be happy.
@creaturecase you asked for it
Koushirou hadn’t stopped even now. The Reboot had happened and the Chosen Children had taken to their various corners to recharge after the battle and the loss. He hadn’t allowed himself the chance to stop, however, if only because he needed to find out-- To see, somehow, if things had occurred as they suspected. The Digital World was as closed off as it had ever been the past while, however, and he finds with it his heart sinking and his determination reaching new heights.
Tentomon.
It’s not long before he comes to his decision. They could get back to the Digital World, they would have to. All of them. He knew they could do it, but there was still plenty at risk. It wasn’t like with Miyako, Daisuke, and Iori-- They wouldn’t just be able to return home when they wanted. The Digital World would likely be unlike the one they knew and had grown up with. So what would that mean for them...?
Pinching the bridge of his nose he pulled away from the computer screen. Slowly he made his way across the room and tucked his laptop back inside his bag. He grabbed some either items he might need, stowing it away within the confines of the bag. At least this time he could come prepared. His eyes glanced up towards his desk where a picture of him and Tentomon had sat. Frowning at it, he gripped the bag more tightly in his resolve. His eyes flickering over the family portrait that sat next to it and he swallowed roughly. What should he say? Should he say anything?
Rubbing at his eye, the boy sighed and turned on his heel before exiting the room. He’d already decided, nothing was going to change that. Pulling the straps over his shoulders he made his way down the stairs and only paused when he saw the familiar form of the man coming out of his case in the living room.
He paused uncertainly before offering an uncertain smile and what he hoped was a convincing way.
“I’m going out for a bit.”
Apparently he was going with avoiding saying anything.
for @creaturecase a verse that won’t be sad while we kick ourselves in the feels
Dear Newt,
I’ll apologize in advance for the hastiness of this letter. I’m writing it as soon as I can and we’ve got to leave in just a few minutes. You know I was supposed to only be turning in the yearly report and that got balled up. We’ve been on an investigation for-- six weeks now?
I was supposed to be back next week. As you know. Unfortunately, it looks as if that’s changed. Again. There was another sighting of a group they believed to be Grindelwald’s followers. So I’m stuck here. I’ll write you as soon as I can. Might not be for a few days, but I’ll still be at Queenie’s and Jacob’s when I can.
Sorry we have to keep rescheduling that day trip.
Love,
Tina
Reflecting back on that day it was the most formal letter she’d sent to him in years. Not that she usually had to be sending him letters. Having been on loan to the Ministry of Magic for the fight against Grindelwald had come with its benefits-- The main one, of course, being there had been a lot of day trips. Usually in the case helping take care of his creatures. Other times to quick beast surveying within apparating distances.
It was a year of the two of them having tiptoed around the subject of courtship until one of those fateful days Tina had enough and kissed him. Of course, since then those days hadn’t changed their outings at all-- And if you asked Tina when their courtship had began she would have been a little flustered to put a date on it having realized that, aside from the kissing, it had been going on much longer than either had assumed.
She’d grown reliant of his company while in England. Days with Newt were a breath of fresh air away from high risk missions and the deaths that accompanied fighting against Grindelwald’s followers. She’d become so accustomed to seeing him and the creatures at least once a week that it was odd not to be surrounded by them. She missed Sapphire and his silly Niffler. And that’s how she knew something was really wrong.
Of course, she missed Newt quite a deal more then any of their creatures. The letter she had written was nearly three weeks ago marking this three months in America. She found she didn’t quite feel as home as she used to in New York. Oh, she still knew the streets--- But she felt out of place. More so now that hers and Queenie’s old apartment was being rented out by someone else. Queenie and Jacob now living together happily allowed Tina to stay with them during the duration, but she couldn’t help feel like an intruder no matter her sister’s and brother-in-law’s rebuffing.
It just wasn’t home. Of course, no place felt at home when at any given second you’d receive an owl or an alert telling you to be in the Auror department within a few minutes. Luckily, all of the calls had largely been false alarms and those that weren’t were far from as bad as she’d seen in England the past few months. Or maybe she’d just become desensitized to horror, but she doubted it was that.
Her days off were beginning to feel more stressful then her days in. At least while she was working she had something to focus on. The first time she had offered to help in the bakery when she had time to do something that had failed miserably. Not to mention it just didn’t help-- The case helped, Newt helped. And she hated to admit how much of her heart seemed to be with the man now, but it was.
She noticed. Queenie noticed. Queenie kept giving her sympathetic looks and Tina cursed herself for not being better at Occulmency. So instead she’d shoo her sister out the door offering to take care of the baby. While not quite the same as dealing with beasts, Tina was quite good at taking care of things now-- Even if she doubted her mothering skills.
Which is why at the moment she found herself rocking the toddler in her arms and staring out the window to the street below. Which is why she’s thinking about the letter she’d sent Newt several weeks before and how she had wished she had something more or something different-- But, to be fair, Tina had been called out and wanted to get something to him.
Still. The only sign of affection she had given him was a simple ‘Love Tina’ and an apology for missing another “date”. Well, really, it was the same one they’d been talking about-- as if clinging to the day they’d meet up again. And sadly the more it got pushed back the more she had to come to terms with the fact that she did miss him. And Mercy Lewis did she love him.
...She was glad Queenie was at the bakery with Jacob as that thought crossed her mind, even if her sister seemed well aware of it by now. Trailing a finger down the length of the child’s nose as it stretched its hand out to her, Tina smiled to herself. “He’d love you, you know,” She whispered quietly, “He loves all babies. Even humans. He likes playing mummy.” Her voice is a low rumble, just loud enough to be soothing for the child who liked hearing voices when going to bed. Of course it was about Newt-- She only allowed herself to think about Newt when Queenie wasn’t around to give her looks.

Still in his GUISE. The rush of adrenaline and his poor temper sent him into a F R E N Z Y of words and arguments. It only ended with him shouting to the young wizard that yes indeed, he was the Great Gellert Grindelwald! Percival Graves was long gone and a bit dead. Spoken in a humored tone as he disarmed Mister Scamander making him look weak now without a wand to conjure up magic to protect him. Again the question rang in his ears, why was Albus so fond of THIS young wizard?? Gellert stood above him, eyes looking down as a GOD UPON MORTALS with a terrible grin.
“ Oh, Mister Scamander, you are no match for me. No one is. I would get used to being on your knees; that’s where you belong. A DISGRACE to the magical community. ”

“Well, don’t stay out too late, then, Teenie,” her sister replied, and she got up to start clearing up the dishes. Newt moved closer to the door, pulling on his coat as he did so.
Never mind that the werewolf was not their primary objective in leaving the apartment — never mind that there might not even BE a werewolf. Newt was curious, and excited, and quite ready for a late-night exploration of the city.
But it couldn’t quite erase from his mind the thought of being alone again with Tina. Here, now, was his opportunity to say something, to clarify where they stood. If he could find the courage. He needed to know what their kisses meant.
“Ready to go?” he asked.
Tina rolled her eyes, but still touched her sister’s shoulder affectionately on their way out the door. A wordless not was her answer to his question. Pulling her oversize collar up to her face. Donning a clothe hat she looked quite similar to how they had first met. They’d been the opposite of kissing then.
Having visited on multiple occasions he, like Jacob, was accustomed to their quiet sneak out of the boarding brick building. They could easily apparate, but some sort of no maj appearance of entering and exiting had to be kept up.
“MACUSA is half and half on the werewolf rumors,” she informed him when they stepped outside to a rush of cool air. Tina wasn’t sure what being alone with Newt meant. Did he still like her? “I take it you’ve maybe studied them? Or do werewolves not count since they are human as well?”

Adora Hart hesitated in opening the front door, wavering in the foyer with her bottom lip between her teeth, playing with a loose string on her skirt. Although Void was on the back porch, having a smoke, he had the hearing of a canine--and his doorbell was so ridiculously stentorian, anyone could probably hear it for miles. Therefore, if she tried to not answer the door, or scare the person away, she would face his wrath later on.
Sucking in a deep breath, she hurried to unlock Void’s obscene number of latches on the door, then heaved it open, having some difficulty with the heavy old thing. She adjusted her skirt and tugged it down, ensuring her tail remained out of sight, and managed the weakest of smiles for the stranger before her.
“Yes? Can I--can I, um, help you with something, sir?”
