Does anybody else just really love creature/monster!Draco in their fics? because I really love creature/monster!Draco in my fics. Not in like a "creature inheritance" kind of way, or in a "he's cursed and the only cure is ___" kind of way, I mean fics where he is, in some way, not human. However that has to happen. I also like when it's not even something that used to be human, like, vampire or werewolf Draco is great, but I also prefer the idea that he simply is not, and never was human. How that happened with him being a Malfoy would have to have some in story explanation or something (like if he were a changeling or something or if the Malfoy bloodline was cursed so that every _ generations a _ is born or something). He would have to keep it a secret basically his whole life, so there's a constant tension in every one of his relationships because they can never truly know him. If there's some kind of mental/behavioral difference between the way he thinks and the way he naturally wants to act and what's normal for humans to think and do, the better, because then you have him constantly reshaping himself and forcing himself into a role that's unnatural and stifling, but if he ever stops, he'll lose everything. The fact that he is a Malfoy just raises the tension because it's not just that he would be seen as different or people wouldn't like him anymore, it's that if anyone were to ever know, he would lose all of that precious Malfoy privilege and nobility that he cherishes so much. Also, it can't be some deal where he actually disagrees with his parents' beliefs because of his experience, it's better if he's internalized it and just constantly feels like an absolute imposter around everyone and he carries himself so high he feels like if he ever falls he actually wouldn't survive.
Draco Malfoy is the type of person who is always pretending, always grasping at the importance he feels he's supposed to have but also knows he doesn't, and I think fics that make him literally pretending to be something he's not work really well.
