What do you look for in a story? I’m pretty easy to please. If it’s Karedevil (or a Nelson, Murdock and Page story), I *will* read it. Everyone I read has an excellent grasp on the characters, so I don’t care what situation they’re put in; if it is true to the character I am going to enjoy your story.

What is a fun fact about yourself? I live in the same town that the movie Groundhog Day was filmed.

How many times do you think you’ve watched the show(s)? Probably at least 4 times (seasons 1 and 2), still have to do a rewatch of season 3. Soon!!!

What other fandoms have you/ do you participate in? I’m a total mixed bag. The Beatles, Jane the Virgin, MCU movies, Jane Austen, Romancelandia

How do you come up with ideas for creations? It often just starts with what I’d like to see. I’ll get an idea like, “how would Matt ask Karen to move in with him”, and then I just kind of fill in the blanks. Once in a while, I’ll have a line of dialogue and write something around that, but more often then not it’s basically just “here’s how I picture *this* scenario going down”, and then writing it.

What are your favorite creations that you’ve made?

Something Always Brings Me Back to You; I was just very happy with how this one turned out; this was/is the most angsty thing I’ve written, of a grief-stricken, Post-defenders Karen going to church to light a candle for Matt

I’m Never Close Enough to Say; this one was just fun to write and came unbelievably quickly, it’s post-season 1, pre-season 2 about Karen going back to the Nelson & Murdock office after a bad date, where Matt is working late and had been trying to ignore how much Karen being out on a date is bothering him

You Are Mine to Keep Warm; this one was also a blast to write; the city gets hit with a blizzard, so they figure it’s the perfect excuse not to do any work. Most of my stuff tends to be established relationship, and I loved coming up with various things they would do on a snow day stuck in Matt’s apartment.

What is your DDS4 wishlist? Nelson, Murdock & Page getting up and running, Matt working to find balance in his two lives, more Bullseye, more Sister Maggie, and of course….Matt and Karen (in my head, it would definitely still be a slow burn, with them falling for each other all over again but scared to do anything about it, until they just can’t not be together)

Do you have any advice for other creators? Nothing but just create/write/draw/whatever more Karedevil! It seems like we’re a small corner of the fandom, but we are a very passionate fandom, and there will always be an audience for Karedevil

What are your favorite kinds of prompts? Any prompt you want to give me! I do tend to write more established relationship/happy Karedevil which I know is not everyone’s cup of tea, but if that *is* your jam, please hit me up anytime. I’m also happy to take meta questions.

How many Karedevil WIPs do you have? Three which I feel like will never actually happen.

What do you look for in a story? An interesting plot and three-dimensional characters.

What are your favorite creations that you’ve done and why? I really loved my fic for the prompt parallels. I feel like I did a good job in getting inside the character’s heads and making something interesting out of it.

Do you have any advice for other creators? Just do what you feel is right. Just do it. If you keep editing or rewriting you won’t have any fun, and that’s why we’re all doing this in the first place. So just do whatever it is you want to do.

How do you come up with ideas for creations? Idk….kinda like shower thoughts, I guess?

What are your top characters from the Defenders in order: Matt, Karen, Foggy ;)

What are your favorite kinds of prompts? Anything that lets me really dive into a character. Also college AU.

How many Karedevil WIPs do you have? Two. One is posted, one is many random pages of rough draft

What are your favorite creations that you’ve done and why? I think my favorites are my AUs/canon divergence fics. I love the characters, but I don’t always want to write them within canon. AUs are a chance to play, and really invent my own world for them.

Is it me you’re looking for? Wrong number AU, set in a world mostly similar to the show. Matt and Foggy have just started their own firm, and Karen still works for Union Allied, but there’s no murders and no Wilson Fisk.

Dance with me - Canon divergence, set a few episodes into season 1. Karen runs into the man in the mask in unexpected circumstances. This one is smutty!

Scenes From a Library -  Karen and Foggy work in a public library, Matt comes in as a patron.

Put a spell on me - The setting is similar to the show, only there’s magic. Karen’s Union Allied boss turns her into a cat, Matt breaks the spell. Not crack, this is a serious story.

Won’t you tell me your name? College AU, written for a Tumblr prompt involving Person A accidentally dropping a bunch of condoms in front of Person B.

A Winter’s Tale - Fantasy AU. Sort of a pseudo-historical setting (vaguely late medieval-ish, but definitely fantasy, not historically accurate). This is my current WIP, I promise I’m still working on it and will finish it!

What is your DDS4 wishlist? Matt, Karen and Foggy working together against outside conflict, not having conflict among themselves. Matt and Karen getting together, in a way that respects their past history. Matt, and Karen, getting to be happy for more than 30 seconds at a time. 

What do you look for in a story? Emotional depth. That doesn’t mean that everything has to be serious, I like fluffy/silly stories, too. But the best ones have character interactions that are based in real emotion, where the love and affection are clear even if the story is nothing but shenanigans.

What are your favorite kinds of prompts: This one is tough. I honestly can’t predict what will spark an idea, and what won’t. Sometimes I just can’t think of anything to write, even if I like the prompt. But the prompts I’ve managed to fill have been fairly fluffy, either established relationship or AU. I have some things I won’t write, but luckily so far no one has sent me a prompt that I’d consider a hard no. Meta questions are welcome, as well as fic prompts.

What is your favorite thing about Karedevil? That season 3 fixed it.

What are your favorite creations that you’ve done and why? I think I like all of the stories the same.

What are your top characters from the Defenders in order: If I just say Daredevil is the only Defender I like, am I gonna be judged?

Do you have any advice for other creators? Just sit and write.

What do you look for in a story? Escape from reality. Too much?

How do you come up with ideas for creations? Usually from songs lyrics.

What is your favorite thing about Karedevil? Jesus, this is the most difficult question! The slow burn, the fact that they are so similar, both broken, flawed, stupid, lonely yet they’d give their lives for the people they love. The angst, the awkwardness, ALL THE FREAKING SPARKS whenever they’re together. Their friendship. How they have helped each other, their arguments, all the softness and how sexy they are together. Their whole arc S1 all the way to S3. I could continue here, but I think you get the idea ;-)

How many Karedevil WIPs do you have? Hahahaha! I am cracking up at this question! Hey, kudos to whoever came up with this one. I have approximately 14 *facepalm*

What are your favorite creations that you’ve done and why?

Reveal(s) - I loved writing this one because of how I had to get in their heads in this hard moment of their relationship (Matt’s confession) and it was inspired by a dear friend’s comment and love for the flashback scene. Plus, angst.

Steps - This one was fun to write because it was supposed to be a one-shot and then a friend prompted me to go on with step 2 and then this happened. It was fun to get in their heads during the rebuilding of their relationship in S3.

12 Midnight - I was suffering writer’s block after the cancellation and had no idea how I would write the secret Santa fic for which I had already signed up because I was so down. With the encouragement/help from some friends, this happened. It’s my longest fic so far and the whole process of writing it was very fun. And my secret Santa liked it which is even more important.

Do you have any advice for other creators? Enjoy the process. Have fun. It doesn’t matter if your idea is not the most original one. Create it anyway. It will be your own way. Find at least one friend you can share your work with beforehand if you’re not sure. Trust me, it’s amazing how helpful and encouraging people in this squad can be. We all love kudos and comments, but that’s not the purpose of this. It’s for fun. And if YOU and at least one more person liked it,  then it was all worth it (And most of the time, a lot of people like it). Yes, I am giving this advice to myself too.

What do you look for in a story? Truth to its characters. I could say a lot more, but I think that sums it up.

Is there something else you’d like from your squad? I’m not on Tumblr or any social media anymore, I’m very in the background, but please know that I miss you all a lot <3 Thanks for keeping the squad going! :)

What are your favorite kinds of prompts: I don’t really have much experience with prompts. What I love to write the most is canon compliant stuff, whether it is things we didn’t get to see in the show or things we could see in the show, if that makes sense. Other than that, anything that comes to my mind. Maybe someday I’ll get creative and write an AU or something like that. 

How do you come up with ideas for creations? Wow. Tough question. From the show. From whatever comes to my mind. Songs. Random quotes. Even gifs have inspired me. Ideas come from everywhere, really. 

What is a fun fact about yourself? I watched the show I think in Feb 2018. I joined Tumblr just so I could see all the nice KD posts that I found on Google which happened to be shortly before the Karedevil Week in August and was FANTASTIC. Met two amazing girls on Twitter who happened to be creators and were also on Tumblr. Then I opened an AO3 account just so that I could subscribe to my favorite authors and bookmark fics. Started interacting with more KD squad members through posts. The S3 hype was HIGH! Ended up writing my first fic inspired by the coffin scene in S3 and I haven’t stopped ever since, although I have had many writer’s block periods ever since the show was cancelled (I barely slept that night). I also have met more incredible people. Bottom line: DD and Karedevil have a very special place in my heart.

How many times do you think you’ve watched the show(s): I don’t know! Not because I’ve seen it so many times, unfortunately (I wish I had the time!), but because for sure it’s only once (generally speaking), BUT I did rewatch S1 almost entirely, and S3… Oh my God… I’ve written a lot of fics based on S3 so I don’t know how many times I’ve rewatched some of the episodes. S3 EP1, S3 EP6 (My very favorite to write about), OBVIOUSLY S3 EP11 (<3), EP 12 and EP 13 are the ones I’ve see the most. Do all the videos from the show on YouTube count? LOL Seriously, with all of that plus the gifs that refresh my memory, and all the meta and endless articles I’ve read, I honestly feel like I’ve seen it a hundred times. 

What are your top characters from the Defenders in order: Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Foggy “Foggy Bear” Nelson, Jessica Jones, Misty Knight, Wilson Fisk (do villains count?)

What is your DDS4 wishlist? Not shying away from or ignoring KD (obviously) although I don’t necessarily need them to get married or anything, I just would really prefer there not be tons more conflict or any love triangles since they’ve already been through a lot. Want to see Nelson, Murdock & Page actually being a thing and Foggy and Karen getting to be badasses. Would also LOVE more focus on Karen and her backstory, cause she’s my girl, even though we already got lots of that last season. Maybe some quotable KD lines to use in vids. :)

What is a fun fact about yourself? I have a bachelor’s in philosophy and I’m a classically trained violist although I don’t really play anymore.

What is your favorite thing about Karedevil? I love how they’re so incredibly similar but it takes time for that similarity to be revealed and it’s not always something anybody picks up on. They both are obsessed with justice and have this ridiculous double standard where they’re allowed to do crazy things and put themselves in harm’s way, but if the other does it they get angry and act like it’s completely unacceptable. And they both (prior to s3) put each other on a pedestal and were not willing to let the other see their darker side because they were terrified of being rejected and losing each other. And despite that similarity they really do balance each other well, they have conflict, but they can still present a united front and support each other no matter what.

How many Karedevil WIPs do you have? No WIPs for Karedevil at the moment because I write for a lot of different fandoms. My Karedevil muse is resting currently but she’ll be back :)

What are your favorite creations that you’ve done and why? Probably my vid, Killer. I’d been wanting to vid KD forever and I was really struck by the song and how well I felt it suited Karen and her feelings about herself and Matt.

What do you look for in a story? Solid characterization & dialogue, interesting premise, good pacing.

What other fandoms have you/ do you participate in? More than a few 😂 Fandom-wise I tend to interact most with Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and recently Narnia, but I jump around a lot and I tend to never really lose interest in things.

Are you a Daredevil multishipper? Nope :) I really only ship KD although I appreciate all the relationships on the show on some level. I multiship for other fandoms, but not this one.

What are your top characters from the Defenders in order: ½ Karen & Matty (it’s a tie, I really can’t pick one of them lol) 3. Luke Cage, who is so huge because he’s full of goodness (!!). I also like Danny’s character a lot in concept, but I don’t want to list him because I didn’t think much of IF as a show

How do you come up with ideas for creations? They mostly just pop into my head.

Do you have any advice for other creators? Don’t be afraid to take breaks :) If you’re not feeling inspired on a work, it’s okay to leave it alone for a while.

What are your favorite kinds of prompts: I love setting AUs (fantasy, scifi, historical, etc) and pretty much all prompts, although I prefer not to do pure fluff

What is your favorite thing about Karedevil? They understand each other perfectly, they have seen each other’s darkest parts/secrets, and they don’t judge each other. and they always end up back together. (I am bad at describing this, sorry)

Do you have any advice for other creators? Just keep going. If you want to create something go for it. Don’t feel ashamed if it’s not perfect, every master was a beginner once. And don’t feel bad if you think your idea is not original enough, or that something like that has already been done. Doesn’t matter. it has never been done YOUR way, and therefore it will be amazing and unique.

What do you look for in a story? It just….has to grab my attention. Idk. I love very different stories for very different reasons.
