We all know that Homestuck is actually a story about two siblings fighting over who gets to write it, with one who wants it to be about himself, and one who wants it to be a beautiful story of growth. BUT, What if the boy was the one with the Green cheeks. What if the boy, still as aggressive and understanding of the concepts of destruction of time, and the usage of it, was the good guy. The one who wants the story to flourish. The whole story shifts in tone. It’s about Calliborn, who was attempting to give the story as much of a satisfying conclusion with the best possible ending for the kids as possible, Having to literally fight against both space and Time, creation and destruction, having to Force himself to gain absolute control over time, to place himself in the story and stop his sister, who wants to create the most horrifying, torturous piece of artistic media ever. The darkest most depressing story about kids who’s lives are ruined by a video game, forced to kill, and be killed themselves, to ascend to godhood and ultimately fail at what they do, by using and ending the lives of real people. What if Caliborn was the Hero, and Lord English was himself forcing the story to turn out well, and Calliope was the villain, who cared not about the suffering of others, so long as she can create the most brutal story ever. Calliope planted seeds to convince everyone Lord English wanted nothing but to destroy everything, and have their lives as suffering, and he has to fight around those who he wants to succeed, to stop his sister from ruining their own lives. Gamzee is turned into a hero in this light, having to endure torture and stress from his old friends to make sure it comes out right for everyone else. He has to kill his friends or else they will fall into a much worse fate. Hussie is a villain, working alongside calliope to create the most brutal destructive media ever. He wishes for the death of those around him, and the tears of those reading it. He actively tries to kill the hero. This would be a far different story, about the Fall of a hero who did everything in his power to make everything turn out well, killed by those he just wanted to see succeed, because they were tricked and manipulated by his sister, who’s intricate weaves and careful word choice turned existence itself against him. Calliope won, and got her story of loss and desperation. There is no satisfying conclusion, as the writer herself gave her own life to see her project come to life. She wanted a grand story of suffering and betrayal, and her careful planning and self sacrifice made it so. Calliborn dies, a hero branded as a villain, never being able to save his potential friends. Calliope dies, a villain painted as a hero, sacrificing her life to defeat the “Villain.” Her story came true. Inspiration for the AU comes from @creative-classpect.
