A College of Creation Bard can make material components for spells for free as an action, so long as it doesn't cost more than 20 times their level.
This lasts 8 hours.
There is a spell called Distort Value, which can double or halve the cost of something.
It's a first level spell.
It lasts 8 hours.
It's not concentration.
Bards have access to this spell.
You can compound the effect.
Using this, a level 3 College of Creation Bard can create a 60gp diamond (or whatever else you need for a spell) and after casting Distort Value 4 times, that 60 gp diamond is suddenly worth 960 gp. You can use that for almost any spell. And as a bard, if you max out deception, you could sell this, and make a profit with a 1500% increase on base value, that you made for free. And it only gets better when you level up. You can also use higher spell slots for Distort Value. Become a con artist, and with the money you scam from people, you can buy actual spell components.
