It’s just right around the corner and I’ll be moving on foot around these beautiful trails east of Lake Tahoe for the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 Mile Endurance Run for my first hundo of the year. It’ll my second stab at it and hopefully this time around, I’ll make it to the finish. A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to step foot on one of the worlds most famous 100 mile endurance races, Western States 100. This Saturday, many runners will toe the line and will be part of the similar conditions I had to run with the first 15-20 miles with snow pack, muddy trails, and streams running through the trails. Either love it or hate it. On these trails with 90 plus degrees, I’m learning to love it, even more with about 1K vert on Training Hill Trail. There were a few people out, but no snakes... makes me wonder🤔 There’s about a month left and with a lack of training since the beginning of the year, I’m hoping I can at least get to the finish line this time around. I’m not looking for a fast finish time and with Angeles Crest 100 becoming a possibility, I’ll have two weeks to recover after TRT100 and it’ll be off to SoCal. For the meantime, I really have to decide what shoes I’ll be running in. I’m loving the new @merrell Bare Access XTR, but will I need a bit more padding to be safe?
