Battle Action cover dated 19 August 1978. Both images on the cover came from interior art in that issue - Samurai by Carlos Cruz and Crazy Keller by Eric Bradbury. As can be seen below a bit of 'eye shadow' was placed around the main character's eyes for the cover.
I'm intrigued as to the belt buckle and whether Japanese soldiers were known to wear things like that. I know some had what was called the senninbari or belt of a thousand stitches which would often be adorned with the image of a tiger. I think this was more akin to a strip of cloth rather than what looks like a leather belt and buckle.

Battle Action No. 232, dated 18 August 1979. Crazy Keller cover by Eric Bradbury. The strip was written by Alan Hebden and I think, when it debuted in 1978, was intended as a replacement for Major Eazy with Carlos Ezquerra having moved over to Starlord and then 2000AD. Treasury of British Comics.
