Let’s Rub! Leaf 🍁 Rubbings are fun and a great family activity. They can be very simple or very sophisticated depending on age and ability. Even the youngest child will produce great results providing that the paper is held for them and they are shown how to rub correctly. The crayon Rubbings can be left as pictures or cut out and used to dress spoon people or to make Birthday cards or notelets or table decorations. It’s also fun to lightly brush over the Rubbings in watercolour. A black wash is very effective over oranges and pale greens. Rubbings also help to develop Hand-eye coordination and strengthen hand muscles so improving fine motor skills. There’s more on my website.
