Ten years. It had been ten years since... Well. Sans didn’t like to think about it. He would have forgotten the date if could, but it seemed like the numbers identifying one of the worst days in his life were seared into the back of his skull. A stronger than usual sense of guilt gnawing at his bones had sent him to his usual stool at Grillby’s, where he’d been slumped over the counter for the past few hours. He hardly even registered the movement of the other monsters out the door as the hour neared the bar’s closing time. Crumpled ketchup bottles and empty paper baskets littered the space around him. He raised a finger slowly to request a refill.
