This delicious dessert, called Chocolate Quake Cake, has a deliciously 'quake' or crackled appearance on top of a rich and gooey chocolate cake. It's the ideal way to sate your cravings for chocolate and incredibly simple to make.
Ingredients: 1 box chocolate cake mix. 1 cup chocolate chips. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1/4 cup milk. 1/4 cup cocoa powder. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar. 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional. 1/2 cup shredded coconut optional.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the cake batter. Do not stir it in. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is set and the top has a cracked appearance. Optional: During the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle the chopped pecans and shredded coconut on top for added texture and flavor. Remove from the oven and let the cake cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, and enjoy your decadent Chocolate Quake Cake!
