Columbia Records: Chapter 1
She walked along the road to the beat of the music blasting from her headphones, not a care in the world as she goes threw Los Angeles the warm weather feeling great on her skin compared to the Kansas weather she experienced just a few weeks earlier. She was so lost in her own world that she didn't notice any of the sounds or people around her.
"Emily," Tony called from inside the wroght iron fence enclosing the restraunt from the sidewalk. He watched the young girl bob her head as she passed the first section of the short fence.
"Emily," he called a little louder trying not to get in trouble with his boss or the people eating around him.
"Emily," he said running out the gate quickly grabbing her on the shoulder to get her attention. She quickly turned around about to smack someone before she realized it was Tony.
"Hey," she pulled on the ear buds wrapping them around her iPod putting it in her purse.
"You need to turn that down next time," he grabbed her hand pulling her into the patio space and sitting her down at one of the tables.
"Okay," she laughed, "What am I doing here?" she asked relaxing in her seat plopping her purse down on the floor.
"I'll be right back," he said before walking away.
"Yea 'cause that answers my question," she laughed looking around at the other tables which were mostly empty except for 3 of them, which made sense for it being 1:30 on a Monday afternoon.
"Hey Emily," one of the waitress' said as she walked past her with an empty tray in her hand.
"Hey Julia," Emily smiled up at the red head. Julia leaded down and Emily leaned up just the slightest to embrace in a short hug.
"What are you doing here?" Julia asked putting the tray under her arm and tucking the notepad in her apron.
"I wish I could tell you, but Tony just pulled me in here and walked off," Emily looked up at the shortish girl.
"Oh it must be around his lunch break and gossip time apparently," she laughed.
"Great whats going down now?" Emily asked scarred of the answer that could come up.
"I have no idea, no one trusts me with gossip," they shared a laugh knowing good and well that it was because she had the biggest mouth ever.
"Well i better get back to my tables, see you later," Julia said as she started to walk away.
"See ya," Emily said loud enough for Julia to hear it as she walked away.
Alone again Emily started nodding her head to the tone she was remembering from earlier, tapping her fingers on the table to the beat. She looked up at the people walking down the street, most of them on their cell phones talking loudly and not enjoying the beautiful weather, which bugged her to the core. Emily always believed in living in the moment and enjoying the little things and after two weeks in a Kansas winter she was very thankful for the sun shining down on her face.
She continued looking and soon found her focus shifting to the table in the corner which held five guys, one of which was looking in her direction as well. Their eyes met for a moment and they stayed there for a while before Emily smiled nervously and looked back towards the street, her cheeks growing warmer. Which made the handsome stranger smile to himself and his friends take notice and look at him strangely before looking at her to see what made him so happy. Which made her cheeks grow even redder.
