you know hes there. you hug your plush closer to you, and shuffle under your thin blanket. you know youre trembling, and you know hes watching you. you just want to sleep. why does something so simple, so human, have to be horrifying?
his breath is quiet, but everything else is so suffocatingly silent that you are fixating on the sound. trying to convince yourself that hes not there, while terror crawls through your veins and unwanted tears of horror prick at your eyes.
you know he used to do this in the early days, back when things were simpler. you saw the tunnels, you and your best friend even joked around about it. this isnt anything new, and a part of you hates that.
its not even just when youre inside your house either, its when youre just taking a walk outside, when youre going to visit your best friend. when you see movement out of the corner of your eye, or when you feel a fucking familiar hand on your shoulder, and turn around and theres nothing there.
you know its him, it has to be. yeah, some of it could be parinoid thinking but considering everything.... you cant blame it all on a trick of the mind.
he watched you during your exile too, even though it was different it still made you feel unnerved, espessially in the beginning of that horrid era. he'd watch as youd build up your inventory, only for it to be destroyed the next day, hed watch as you got worse and worse because of him and your eyes used to be so bright, so fucking bright and now they are just grey and he did that, and watched as it happened over time.
you try your best to stifle a sniffle, and curl into a ball under your blanket. you shut your eyes, and cover your face with your plush. you just want to sleep.

Hello everyone I've taken one of my favorite hurt/comfort tropes and made it Fucked Up :)
Summary:
When Dream finally finds Tommy, he's in the very top level of Tubbo's old house, curled up and asleep in the corner of a tiny little hidey-hole of a room he must have made, hardly more than an obsidian box- certainly an interesting choice of material, even if it was most likely just for the extra protection.
He can't help but feel a slight bitterness toward the sight in front of him. It's clear Tommy has chosen to hide here because of the comfort and familiarity it brings, even after his supposed "best friend" has proven time and time again that he doesn't actually care.
Not that it even really matters anyway, because Dream is here, and that useless pawn isn’t. And he hasn’t been, considering Dream has barely even seen him around Tommy since he got out of prison.
If anything, Tommy has been spending more time with Dream than anyone else lately.
Whether he’s aware of it or not. :)
