NGL as I (a covenless witch by choice) have been studying other witchcraft traditions, some of them I look at with the same amount of raised eyebrows as I do Christianity. Like WDYM your initiation begins with isolation, being naked, and getting blindfolded and tied up? H-hello??? 👀💧
Separation, death, rebirth, new life be damned, you better hope and know for sure you can trust those people. And you better hope someone is not using such a ritual to manipulate a false sense of safety in you.
That said: Both my patron and I are also heavily biased towards group traditions in general, regardless of creed. Things either get too complicated too fast or that complexity festers and sours over decades into concrete. Some people have too much fear of bad spirits or spells backfiring and not enough wariness of fellow mortals.
Just... Please be careful, y'all. Many covens have at least a year before initiation is even on the table, but nothing is ever wrong with giving yourself more time than is socially expected to get familiar with the group. The same goes for ANY relationship.
