Turner in Count Zero

It’s been ages since I updated my Bookstagram! I officially suck at social media! I finished Count Zero by William Gibson! The question of whether I enjoyed it is a difficult one though. Going into this book I was a bit apprehensive as I wasn’t blown away by Neuromancer. I took my time with this one and, whilst I did enjoy it more than Neuromancer, I still didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. I feel like this book could’ve done with a few more chapters fleshing out more of the world. The characters got a lot of attention, which is obviously foremost in storytelling, but I got a bit frustrated in that Gibson spent so little time describing the setting. For a boon that’s supposed to be showcasing people in a futuristic world, you don’t read about much of the world! I enjoyed the brisk pace of the book but I often felt lost when a situation the characters found themselves in quickly resolved! Will I carry on this series? There’s only one more book so probably yes but not for a while.
