Take up spacE
The mountains swallow the shining glow of the morning-
With the absence of light, comes darkness.
It begins at the edges and creeps up between your fingers and under your toes
until you have become completely enclosed.
You sit on a shelf made of clouds
-above the world as it sleeps-
Snoring and snoozing as they count sheep.
It is up above rooftops that you decide to glow,
You’ll shine with a strength that you may never fully know.
Even on a moonless night
-there are children wishing with all their might-
On a star just like you,
Who shines mighty and true.
One star alone can shine and gleam,
But only when they work together are they really seen.
Celestial beings join hands-
to make constellation bands.
Up above the trees they guide
those below with pride,
Because once the sun rises again, the one real treasure-
Will be the time we spent together.
