Hoping to prove Heda Lexa is weak, Nia sends assassins to kill her mate, Clarke. Heartbroken by her loss, Lexa pours all of her focus into leading the Coalition. But, eventually, she meets Costia who teaches her to love again.
Meanwhile, Clarke is trapped in an Azgeda black site fighting to get back to her mate. Years later, Clarke finally escapes, only to come home to find Lexa has moved on and taken a new mate. Heartbroken, Clarke decides it is best for Lexa, her friends and family to believe she is dead.
Clarke wanders the world, drowning herself in her sorrows. She eventually lands in Floukru where she meets Luna and her sister, Valentina. With the sisters' help, Clarke's heart heals and she becomes a doctor in the small fishing village.
Years later, Clarke returns home, after learning her father has cancer. It is here that she bumps into Lexa. After an awkward and emotional reunion, Clarke and Lexa struggle with their feelings as it is apparent their bond cannot truly be severed.
No matter how hard they try to deny it, Clarke and Lexa are falling in love again. But is it too late? Can they rekindle a love they believe ended over a decade ago? As the saying goes, it takes as long as it takes.

performance art in general is actually very popular among grounders, delfiyon people are known for their aerial yoga. it’s something they do recreationally as well as for the entertainment of others. it’s commonly performed in delfiyon but during events held in polis or really any other clans territory delfiyon people are more than happy to perform and unlike yujleda and their fire shows they are plenty willing to teach people from other clans their abilities.
they will hang their hammocks from tall trees, ruins or whatever else they have given the circumstances as their aren’t many trees growing through the cement floors of polis. most often they use red hammocks but they aren’t picky over colour. opposite to yujleda’s fire shows which are accompanied by loud music they perform in silence. the only sound you can hear is the crowd who usually keep a respectful silence aside from natural reactions to the art.
being that aerial yoga is incredibly popular in delfiyon culture the vast majority of their population are well trained in the art. most learn the skill as children and only get better with age. that said it’s quite impressive how skilled the children are even at a young age. traveling through delfiyon territory at a peaceful time you’ll see groups of grounders practicing for pure recreational purposes, a few people will watch but it’s so common that the recreational version is nothing special.
The actress he chose was Adelaide Kane. She was playing Mary queen of scots at the time on another CW show called Reign. She was actually excited to play costia and gave into the hype. I remember seeing her post on Snapchat using the Lexa war paint filter with the caption “the costia that never was” after lexa’s death. She is also Australian so she would’ve fit in with the casting type of the show just fine. Bonus mention she also acted with Alycia and the actor who plays finn in a 2014 movie.
Sry for the ramble
Meh
I mean she's beautiful no doubt but I just can't see her as Costia. She's too delicate looking or something, idk I can't put my finger on it. But I don't look at that face or her Google images and think ooo yeah that gives me grounder Costia, first love of Heda Lexa, vibes 😕 she's just kinda... forgive me here... basic compared to other Costia hcs, not to mention the way E played Miss Clarke Griffin 💅
Like I feel a good casting should be if character A had to choose between characters B and C, would it actually be a challange to choose. Does each option bring something special to the table? I don't see none of that with her.

I’m part of the my costia hc varies depending on the fic group, the only thing I can’t fully vibe with appearance wise is when she’s basically described as clarke 2.0 😩 to each their own but that just doesn’t click for me lmao
Yeah I vary on Costias sometimes as well but pretty much I have always mentally seen her as a POC, so anytime I hear her described as a busty blonde or something it's like a record scratches in my head 🥴 but yeah to each their own, we have no idea what she looked like so there's no wrong answers
I don’t know if you were apart of the fandom when costia was like everything to us. But I remember week by week people would have insane theories about whether or not costia was alive and the whole whether she was the 8th nighblood. The whole debate about whether she was an innocent healer who was naive enough to fall for the commander or a badass warrior who was a throne in lexa’s side who knew what she was signing up for. It’s been like a billion years since lexa’s death but man would a prequel have been good to watch.
I wasn't privy to any of that but omg lol I know the fandom was kinda the wild wild west especially between s2-3 so it wouldn't surprise me. I don't remember the 8th nightblood thing but I wasn't as heavily into the fandom then as I became later but honestly Costia could've been such an interesting piece of the Lexa puzzle, and they just did nothing with it. Everything that had the potential to be interesting they left to the waste side.
I like to think of Costia as a childhood friend or someone Lexa saw around the tower all the time as she grew up. I love the idea of this fierce little future noodle-armed heda getting moments of being allowed to be soft and silly when she'd hide away with her beautiful friend as they slowly fell in love (well... Lexa not that slowly. Girl is a gay mess bless her). Practicing her heda strut for Costia to critique ("You're walking like your pants are too tight." "That's because they are." "... Well never mind then.") Teaching herself not to smile even when she wants to as a very willing Costia tests Lexa's resolve. Listening to Costia quietly rant about the conclave system and Titus and everything Lexa has to go through. I like thinking of her as this person that keeps Lexa soft in the moments when Titus is yammering about love being weakness and even after she's gone, that same safety she gave Lexa inspires Lexa to have a more hands on teaching role with the natblidas.
I doubt she'd ever have a throne because that would take away from Lexa's sovereignty and that could never be allowed to happen. Just objectively that really couldn't happen in that political atmosphere. But I also don't know about the warrior thing. Maybe but idk. I highly doubt she was naive at all because that is just so not at all Lexa's type. Lexa gets hot and bothered over strong and self assured women. Even when they were fighting Lexa was salivating and visibly wanted to jump Clarke's bones every time she was assertive and strong willed. I can't imagine Costia didn't share at least some of those same traits. Lexa likes strong women 🤷♀️
But alas we'll never know because JRot is a fucking terrible writer

I'm writing a fanfiction about Lexa's past, how she met Luna, trained with Anya and her relationship with Costia. I'd like to cover her whole life not only the canon and Clarke part. If you want to check !
