So, I came in second place at my LGS for my costume! I lost to an adorable 7 year old Vampider (vampire spider), who was a complete bad-ass at Werewolf. There were 15 participants, so I'm definitely still proud to have lost to that cute little ball of deception and taken the honor of second place.
After the contest, I had an incredible outpouring of people asking me about my costume and how I had made it. The owner of my LGS especially! A lot of people wanted to know if I planned to do anything else with it, what it was made out of, how long it took me, how I did it, etc. A couple people did not believe that I had created the entire thing from scratch (sans Frostmourne, which I will have to sculpt a foam version if I want to go to a convention).
And this is all without the helm that I still haven't made!
I'm thinking about running a cosplay workshop at my LGS in which I invite people to come learn how to use worbla. It would be very basic and people would have to pre-register so I could order some materials, such as enough worbla and Friendly plastic, for everyone interested. I met a friend at the costume contest who is very big into cosplay and she is going to help me get it started.
I'm excited for the future!
