Is it possible to draft a corded corset for oneself that has bust support in the form of underwires and a waist reduction of roughly 1” over a chemise? If you could answer, it would be fantastic. Inquiring minds want to know.
Possibly? I don’t draft my own patterns and I’ve never made a corset, so I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t see why not. Most of the historical ones have boning, cording, gussets, or a combination of any of the above for bust support rather than underwire, though there may be a way to make it work.
Anybody else have thoughts on the matter?

I used curtain wire and luggage clips for my last corset. CURTAIN WIRE AND LUGGAGE CLIPS.
They also have a whole room full of looms, but I don't think I'm getting in there, and if I did I'd probably have a horrible Victorian industrial accident and ruin it for everyone else.
A festive floating liner hand stitched on, now all we need is a little bias binding to finish her off!
You know I really like this corset making, but DAMN drawing those tunnels for the bones on the fabric is like torture.
