Rapunzel smiled, it was nice to hear that someone thought she had a pretty name. Most people liked to tell her that her name was a mouthful or they had trouble pronouncing it.Ā
When she heard the womanās name she gasped, āYour name is so beautiful! I love it!ā she exclaimed. āWell, itās nice to meet you Meg.ā Even if the circumstances werenāt exactly ideal considering how upset Meg seemed to be, she was still glad she had gotten the chance to meet her.Ā
Rapunzel thought about her question long and hard. She rested her chin on her folded hands. Motherā¦Ā
She had thought that her mother wanted what was best for her but it turned out she just wanted her to stay there- trapped forever. She always thought that her mother had her best interest in mind, but clearly that was not true. āYes. I think⦠I think everyone goes through that at least once.ā Rapunzel said honestly.
"We have to make mistakes or else we wonāt learn." Rapunzel decided, still thinking about her Mother. "In who we trust and who we let in our livesā¦"Ā
Rapunzel was essentially a runaway if she really thought about it. She had no true home anymore, and did not want to consider the tower her home. It was a prison. If Rapunzel had recovered, or rather was recovering her mothers tricks, she knew that Megara would be okay too⦠right?
Megara? A pretty name? She had always considered her name to be quite plain, though she supposed that traveling and encountering people from other cultures brought about new experiences, and new reactions to old experiences.
She saw a strange expression on the girl's face. Perhaps she wasn't quite as innocent as she seemed. Meg found herself intrigued. She liked to keep people at a distance, but sometimes she would take an interest in someone who piqued her curiosity. Of course, she would have to be subtle. She wasn't fond of or particularly good at traditional human interaction, instead preferring to play a complicated game in conversation. There was no real reason for it, she just felt it gave her an edge.
"Mistakes... yeah I've made quite a few of those." It was true everyone made mistakes, but most people's mistakes tended not to result in wasting a few years of your life serving the god of the underworld. She made an expression somewhere between a smirk and a grimace, the right corner of her mouth twisting upwards and her nose wrinkling. "Let's just say I've done a few things I'm not proud of."
Trust... What an idea. It seemed she had more in common with the girl than she originally thought. It had obviously had a different effect on her than it had on Meg. She let out a small scoff. "Yeah, I tend to suspect first, trust later. You get hurt one too many times and trust doesn't come easily anymore. So... what kind of experience does a girl like you have with trust and mistakes?"
