In this gluten-free slow cooker recipe, Grand Marnier sauce is mixed with tender Cornish game hens. It's great for a special event or a cozy dinner at home.
Ingredients: 2 Cornish game hens, whole. 1 cup gluten-free chicken broth. 1/4 cup Grand Marnier liqueur. 2 tablespoons honey. 2 tablespoons gluten-free soy sauce. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. 1 tablespoon water. Salt and pepper to taste. Fresh parsley for garnish optional.
Instructions: Mix the Grand Marnier, honey, soy sauce, and chicken broth in a small bowl with a whisk. Put the Cornish game hens in the slow cooker and season them with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Put the lid on top and set the heat to low. Cook for 6 to 8 hours, or until the chicken is fully cooked and soft. Take the hens out of the slow cooker and put them on a serving platter when they are done. To make a slurry, mix the cornstarch and water together in a small bowl. Put the liquid from the slow cooker into a saucepan. Set the pan over medium-low heat and simmer the liquid for a while. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry until the sauce gets thicker, which should take about two to three minutes. Cover the Cornish game hens with the sauce. If you want, you can add fresh parsley as a garnish and serve.
