Ok sorry if I sound like tinfoil hat or you’re like “well in the games before acnh…” I’ve only played acnh, and this also has some theories and treats acnh as if its deep and not a game and thats theres only one tom nook, etc. But I feel like tom nook is already kinda Yandere-ish. Like think about it, you use HIS CURRENCY, that you cant use anywhere else, you cant leave the island unless it’s going to another persons island which he also owns, a mystery island (which I presumes he owns and they just weren’t big enough for a community), or kapp’n islands, which are deserted. You can go to work, but Im pretty sure he knows those people too, so they could be instructed or paid off not to let you go home. Nor can you move out or go to/contact the homeland. You can’t even write back to your mom. He’s also presumably rich and can just hire someone to work at the construction consultation counter, but he still stays there. You’re the only person that talks to him there, villagers would have no use going to him, you handle everything. You are literally stuck and completely dependent on him??? Like his nieces run the shop and you basically have to get the good tools from them and im sure he has to approve people being on the island and leaving it (besides redd, he would be able to sneak past him a couple times before getting caught), so he would be able to completely cut you off from any resources. It defiantly scary because he has the whole island in his hands. Do with this information what you will, but it was just a word dump that I needed to tell someone.

I’ve never rly thought about it but yeah, he rly does act a bit like a yandere canonically. The part I about him not letting you interact with anyone outside the island except other islands he owns??? Genius! He gives you the illusion of freedom and choose but in reality he’s controlling everything. He even has a net around the island to prevent you from swimming off!
