Amagai, a Kidō Master? Undoubtedly.
A passable cook? Heavily debatable.
However, the latter didn't stop Amagai from putting Kidō and cooking together for the sake of Ichigo's birthday.
A large cake is what awaits Ichigo at their front door, strawberry-flavored and spiced, incredibly spiced, maybe too spiced, filled with a number of candles representing Ichigo's age, candles that were alight with energy that could only be birthed from Kidō. A Kidō-derived energy also seems to faintly radiate from the cake's icing, giving it an almost ethereal quality.
Was this cake edible? There was only one way to find out...
.... But, before that was put to the test, there was the matter of a small letter near the cake, reading,
'Happy Birthday, don't eat it all at once! Seriously, don't, I'm not sure what will happen. A few pieces will be fine, though! Really, enjoy yourself! From Shūsuke, and everyone here in the 3rd Division!'

It illuminates the entire cake and leaves it with a slight sparkle. It’s unmistakably kido. Just sitting on his doorstep. Looking significantly less like a birthday cake and significantly more like a bomb in disguise.
He doesn’t even bend down yet. Just stands there, squinting. His gaze darts automatically up and down the walkway.
Is this a prank? An assassination attempt?
He raises his voice a fraction.
“Fucking hell, I’ve never seen food look this much like a trap.”
His eyes finally catch the folded note and he picks it up.
That… somehow explains everything. And absolutely nothing. Well, the guy certainly didn’t hold a grudge. Nice touch really.
He shakes his head, carefully lifting the tray on the tips of his fingers as if transporting a plate full of angry spiders.
“Third Division really signed off on this?”
He eyes the glowing candles one more time before he blows them out.
Maybe he'll feed a piece to Zangetsu first. Just to be safe.
