So little Doris, growing up, she just wants to help people. And every day she is getting the message that the Ruin Police are there to do that. She idolizes them (even more than the actual Idols!) and makes it her goal to one day become a member of the force. She works hard in school, and builds whatever skills she needs to become a police officer. All her effort pays off and after graduating high school she qualifies for the Police training program, which she gets through with some of the highest test scores on record.
Her early service is also exemplary; she is willing to come in early, stay late, and always go the extra mile on whatever case she is given. It’s no surprise when she is given a few promotions, and that they even bend the rules to let her pet corgies be her police dogs. The only personal time off she takes is a week or so, after her best friend mysteriously vanishes and she is told she can’t work the case due to a conflict of interest (that doesn’t stop her from running her own private investigation during that time, although when Resa returns as a new hit Idol she drops it). Doris is a “rising star” in the Ruin Police Force, with a promising career serving her nation ahead of her.
And then one day her supervisor calls her into his office to discuss a new, top secret case. There was a break in, he tells her, at a top secret government compound. An intruder managed to get inside and download a number of highly classified documents onto a flash drive. The suspect is a notorious thief from the mainland who none of the other six nations have been able to catch, and he even managed to evade the team that attempts mpted to apprehend him last night. Sources indicate that he has already left the island; however, the flash drive he has contains such sensitive information that the government has decided to breach protocol and send one of their own to retrieve it before it gets into the wrong hands. They want the best of the best, and everyone above her agrees that that’s Doris.
She’s honored. Here is a chance to prove to herself and others that she’s capable of serving her nation and protecting her people. After receiving the paper order signed by the Governing Council that will allow her to operate as an officer of Ruin Law on the mainland, she hurries home, packs her bags, grabs her dogs, and gets on the first boat off the island to start tracking this thief.
Curt was just following orders. He didn’t know what the files contained when he took them, only that the Doctor said they were vital to his plans and that if Curt managed to bring them to him, some of his debt would be erased. It was an easy in, and an even easier out, if he was honest. He manages to make it back to the mainland with at least an hour before he is supposed to meet the Doctor’s liaison at the drop point. And having nothing better to do, he decides to take a peek at the oh-so-precious files he is carrying. He was the one who’d stolen them, after all.
And oh boy, is he glad he did. Otherwise he never would have known the extent of the Doctor’s plans—and not just his, but also North and Ruin and a number of other parties that are all busy pretending to be innocent. It is enlightening, and it makes him realize that there might be another way. Not only for Miraland, but for him as well, a way free of his contract. If only he can find someone who is able to take this knowledge and do something with it, use it to help him, and the seven nations too he supposes... he isn’t sure who he can trust with this information, but he’s definitely not going to give it to the Doctor now, not when it’s the key to his freedom.
He takes the drive and runs, heading in the opposite direction of where he knows the Doctor is. Curt doesn’t anticipate a chase for a week or so, it’d take awhile for his “master” to realize he’s gone rogue. So when he realizes he has a follower, he’s shocked. Even more so when he realizes it’s not even one of Morrison’s, but some Ruin Island Police officer. He thinks he will outrun her in no time.
He’s wrong.

Juvenile and adult clown coris [Coris aygula], a type of wrasse native to the Indian Ocean as well as the western Pacific. Juveniles [top] are highly sought after in the aquarium hobby for their beautiful markings; however, they turn olive green with more subdued markings upon reaching maturity [bottom]. could you possibly explain Corsi statistics? I've tried reading stuff about it but it all seems so complicated and I feel like I need a dumbed-down version...
Okay so i’m not an advanced stat scholar or anything i have a very very basic knowledge of it to the point where i know what’s good and what’s bad and they mean soemthing to me but i’m not super immersed with it.
Basically though, from what i understand, Corsi is a differential statistic meaning it takes negatives and positives and puts them together to create a number, that measures specifically shots. In the NHL they have shots on goal which is a pretty good stat because it tells you how many saves your goalie is making. However it doesn’t include blocked shots, or shots that go off the pipe. So Corsi measures every shot attempted while that player is on the ice and every shot against while tha tplayer is on the ice. and creates the differential between the two.
That’s really pretty basic and definitely the dumb downed version
