Thoughts/Review Korg Gadget iPad

I recently purchased Korg Gadget on the iPad – it was during a sale so i thought I may as well as it looked a decent purchase. And it is.

This is what's going on at SK headquaters (based in an underground vault at a secret location with its entrance looking like an unsuspicious garage...):

1. The upcomming webgui is slowly taking shape. It still looks like crap but most features are already implemented:

Lightning-fast communication through websockets

Loading and rendering of layouts, even with nested subpages

Customizable layouts (no editor yet)

Import of TouchOSC layouts

Pure HTML5, no proprietary technology, portable to virtually any modern platform!

2. There's probably a solution for the strange 01V96i bug. We'll do another post on this later.

3. Our custom CoreMIDI-Java bridge is ready for production. It will replace an old 3rd party lib which turned out to be problematic with Java7 on OSX.

4. Last week we moved the Stereoscope build server to another physical machine because we had trouble running this aside with the webpage and shop. Everything's working smoothly and we'll publish the announced service update as soon as the mentioned bug is fixed.
