Sounds about right🤣

This year was actually incredible. The level and standard of every single BL on this list is what the industry should be doing DMD is making itself known as the future of the industry. This is my personal ranking of just the 10 BLs announced today and there isn’t a bad one here:

10. Passenger Seat Number X (ZeeNuNew)

A young flight attendant sees his life change when, on one of his flights, he encounters his ex-boyfriend, who’s the new CEO of the airline. This year has a lot of second chance romance, which IS NOT my sort of trope and I don’t love planes as a series setting - so this just sadly just isn’t for me so it’s at the bottom, but I know the acting will be 10/10 so I’ll be watching!

9. Within the Kings Embrace (NorthOtto)

A rising star is falsely cancelled when he won’t sleep with a powerful figure, then his ex comes back into his life and gives him a job at his bar, can they give their love a second chance? Another second chance romance, I do really like NorthOtto and stories about the entertainment industry and villain Ohm - so i hope this is more my thing! I really want to love it.

8. The Scent of Sorrow (TutorYim)

In Post–World War II, a serial killer spirit possesses different bodies, but when a couple start dreaming of these crimes, can they uncover the truth? A co-production with DeeHup, so I have mixed feelings, but it looks genuinely scary and I’ve been begging for TutorYim to get a genuinely good series for years and I hope this is it! (sidecp: TleFirstOne)

7. No.1 Student (CopperFifa)

Alan transfers to Arthit’s school and they become roommates, then their battle for bottom rank of the class begins. But they realise each other’s slacker personas are fake. I wasn’t expecting CopperFifas series to be DMDs first highschool BL but it looks different from a typical school BL, I think it’ll be fun and I’m excited. (iQiyi co-production)

6. 20 Lists (RyujinPatji)

After an argument a rich troublemaker schemes to make the school presidents 12th grade miserable. After things go too far the president is told to tutor the rich kid. As they spend their final year together it goes from the worst year to best. I am trash for cute high school BLs and RyujinPatji are finally leads and with TheeWave as the side cp… this is gonna be everything!

5. Still Holding Up Like the Moon (KengNamping)

A junior actor in the present day travels back to 1982 and meets his favourite actor, that took his own life at 25. This looks like the complete perfect project for KengNamping! It’s gonna be real and painful with some insane performances. And taking a look at Thai entertainment in the 1980s.. Now PLEASE!!!

4. Unknown Lover (ThomasKong)

A boy goes to study in New York after his boyfriend repeatedly cheats on him. Whilst there he meets a playboy who takes him under his wing, and teaches him many new things. ThomasKong shooting a mature dark gritty romance drama in New York… DMD you are making me crazy! Ah! I actually just cannot believe it! Also loved seeing Leon!

3. My Merman (TleFirstOne)

A musical series about a merman who dreams of becoming a singer. When his life becomes intertwined with a human, he sees a chance to make his dream come true. I’m biased because this is my favourite cp, but if this is done right it’s gonna be such a funny, heartwarming, whimsical series! And I could listen TleFirstone sing all day! (side cp: LatteKim)

2. 30 Days of Us (NetJJ)

After almost 10 years a couple falls out of love. When one leaves to travel to Japan the other follows, they spend the next 30 days together to decide if this is it or if they can come back together. The way I fully cried during this… NetJJ woah! Also as a huge fan of japans modern films I’m obsessed that this has been shot in the style of one! My biggest surprise of the lineup!

1. Friend Benefit (TeeTeePor)

Friends since highschool, one has feelings for the other, but the other dates a constant cycle of people. Now in university they work to become idols. This is my number 1. It’s just every trope I LOVE in a romance. And the fact it’s TeeTeePor! AND that it’s with Dexx! This is all I’m going to be thinking about for the next year! (side cp: AuauSave)

UKE - Holy shit! This looks good! Namping is gonna fucking eat!!! It’s time they focus on the stigma and abuse that the femmes are subjected to. Kim being in it as well, damn, this one is gonna make me cry, I just know it.

Passenger Seat Number X - Seems like your classic BL type of fair, simple and by the numbers, but ZeeNunew deserve something simple after how long and hard they worked on The Next Prince. I do love seeing someone else getting to flirt with Nunew, even though he has a snowballs chance in hell of winning him over lol. Also, I like Zee’s haircut, it looks good.

Friend Benefit - Looks messy, a lot of miscommunication and idiocy, not my fave. But TeeTeePor have fantastic chemistry, they really are on their way to becoming one of DMD’s hottest couples. So it could be worth my time, who knows. Plus AuauSave as an adorable side couple is always worth my time.

Unknown Lover - ThomasKong in America!? Okay, I see you. A mixture of an English and Thai script, they really are trying to cater to their international fans. This one seems very stylish and sensual, a nice change for them from the university setting and their cutesy personas. Also love that Leon from GelBoys makes an appearance and apparently Bank as well, they’re just getting all the Thai-American boys to show up for cameos lol.

My Merman - Firstone as a mermaid makes sense, he’s so pretty, Kim as well, also love seeing Pung still working considering Khemjira was his first acting gig. They need to fix Firstone’s shirt though, that mesh is terrible and ill fitting. It looks adorable, a literal fish out of water story. Ngl, I’ll probably skip this one though, I can’t stand singing BLs.

The Scent of Sorrow - TutorYim in a supernatural horror mystery period piece? This one I’m looking forward to, I feel like it’s going to get me in a strangle hold. Give me anything spooky and I’m sold! Plus such a great cast of co-stars; Tle, Firstone and Latte.

20 Lists - I won’t lie, I have no idea who these children are. Looks like a very basic enemies to lovers high school series, nothing groundbreaking but I’m sure it will do well. I’m just not the target audience.

30 Days of Us - Ohhh, this one is gonna hurt! The reality of a long term relationship slowly slipping into strangers instead of lovers, the space between people growing wider and wider and wondering if staying is worth it just because it’s familiar. Net and JJ are bringing their all for this, it’s gonna break everyone’s heart.

Into Racha - Ummm, what a way to start a freaking trailer! The fuck!? This seems like it’s going to be a very important series, male SA victims not being believed, money being able to ruin their lives and sweep the truth under the rug. I’m not familiar with the main actors, they were in Duang With You I think, but they seem like they have decent chemistry and they’re both very pretty.

Still Holding Up Like The Moon - Look if it’s KengNamping then I’m in, no matter what. But the Superman glasses trick is too ridiculous, come on! It’s Keng! The man looks the same no matter what. Time traveling seems to be something DMD is super into as of late, I’m not against it. The homophobia in this one is heavy, the character of Duean is going to make me sob like a bitch I just know it. Although Mean being in it does sour it a teeny bit for me, I don’t like that guy.

Khemjira Forever - SHUT UP, THIS IS MY WORLD CUP! I’m so happy we’re getting more of these characters and this universe that I could cry! If these four actors don’t get another series together, I’ll riot.

Zomvivor Chapter 2 - This one came out of left field for me, I did not expect a second season. I’m not mad about it though, the ending was so tragic and the unspoken feelings between Non and San were right there and we never got a pay off. Love the new additions to the cast, considering it’s a zombie series and so many characters died last season. Looks like it’s going to be a fight between the original cast and the new cast to keep them from killing an already turned Non, this is gonna be good. Also Janis, bb girl, I’m always there to watch anything she’s in.

No. 1 Student - Copper, my darling sweetheart cutie pie. Whilst I’m so sad that he and Ta didn’t work out past DFF, I am glad he got scooped up by DMD. The story doesn’t seem to be too involved, just two guys faking being bad students with attitudes due to trauma but they’re actually geniuses and really sweet underneath it all. You know what? Yeah, I’m down for it, sure! Let’s do this.

Did You Know - Ladies, I have no idea who you are, but I approve of your lesbian shenanigans! The actress who plays the doctor already has my heart, god damn she’s gorgeous!!! I adore the shape of her nose; yes I have a thing about people with interesting or unique facial features, especially their noses. Call me weird, it’s is what it is.
