i find the discourse about people who 'kin for fun' kinda funny cuz like... i'm part of a system and we all have totally different ideas about what kinning is to us, like for me, some kins are past lives, some are for coping, some are a strong connection and some are just for fun, while another system member feels more like they share a soul with their kintypes, while another kins partially for fun and partially to help gain a sense of personal identity, while another just identifies as being fictional, which another is a semi-fictive of an oc that i didn't even know existed. like!! were a whole mixed bag here!! so it's kinda funny seeing people pitting kinnies against each other cuz it's like lmao, couldn't be us [#🗝🚪🎮🌃🌂]

i really hate how the word kin has been watered down so heavily. people will look at any character they just like and go "me irl!!!" like! no! first of all, the word kin comes from otherkin, a group of people who actually IDENTIFY as something (usually) non human! for some its a very spiritual thing, for others they believe they were born as the wrong species or even timeline, a lot of people with da's also used the term(including myself). its become borderline IMPOSSIBLE for me and my friends to find canonmates because of this shit. the words synpath or copinglink are far closer to what these people are describing as kin, and its really fucking frustrating. -a jade harley da whos getting sick of instagram and tiktok kinnies

No. You're not a "for funsies" kinnie. You're a roleplayer who uses cute little labels to make yourself feel special for clout, then drops the kintype again once the fandom gets cancelled for problematicism or the game becomes boring. Here's the reality, sweetheart: true kin can't choose who they are like a flavour of the week. If your source is subject to cancel culture, too fucking bad. You go down with the ship. Yes your experiences are still alterhuman, but ffs, google what a copinglink is.

i'm pretty sure that i'm kin but sometimes i can't help but think that i'm being delusional or just using this as a coping mechanism and i'm gonna go insane one of these days
