Imagine your f/o finding you when you’re breaking down. Maybe something happened, maybe you had a bad day, maybe you’re just not doing well. They go over and sit by you, maybe have their arm around you, maybe they keep their distance. But they tell you that everything is going to be alright. They care about you and love you and will do anything to make sure that you’re happy. They sit there with you, letting you cry or vent or just sit, for as long as you need.
Imagine not being able to sleep for whatever reason, so your f/o stays up with you until you can settle down. Even if you protest and even if they're exhausted they don't rest until you're able to.
Anything bad: *happens*
Me: my f/o would never let this happen...
Reminder to myself and others that not everything that makes me uncomfortable or grosses me out is inherently bad or immoral. Some things are just not for me and that is okay. If someone is not hurting themselves or other people I can just ignore it and move on with my life. It's okay to not like something, but it's not okay to make that other people's problem

List of things to do to recharge and decompress, written for myself but maybe this works for others as well
Read a fun book, maybe even in bed
Go for a walk
Sit and do nothing for 5 minutes
Knit or crochet, maybe while listening to a podcast
Watch a history documentary
Tidy, so your space is less cluttered 😬
Learn something new
Copy something into your commonplace book
Keep a journal. I need time to process things, thinking and writing it out is a way for me to do so. Keeping up with it helps keep my mind less cluttered. My brain attic does get full!
Coping with (dis)stress
Choose 1 thing to do. The most important thing. The number 1 thing on your to do list. Work on that, ditch the rest.
Not an activity but: if you give attention to it, it'll grow. This includes negative feelings. Feeling bad about something but you've already taken the appropriate steps to handle the situation? Taken time to emotionally process. Now you're getting overwhelmed by it? Distraction time. Remind yourself: don't let it grow.
Talk to someone. Friends & professionals.
I tend to feel very cold when stressed, which makes me feel very ill. Getting myself a hot water bottle keeps me warm and more comfortable.
Journal. Write about what's going on.
Honestly one of the best tips I have for dealing with mental illness is very simple and it's this: always have something to look forward too. It doesn't have to big, nothing is too insignificant, and if you can have more than one thing than that's even better. Freshman year of highschool was the worst year of my life, but every Thursday there was a new episode of Steven Universe and that was something to look forward too so I kept getting out of bed everyday because even if it was just a cartoon I knew there was something to enjoy on the horizon. Some more recent examples include looking forward to p3,4, and 5 bring ported to other consoles and I always look forward to Shining Nikki story updates. Nikki's birthday is December 6th which means there will be free events on the server and they'll release another single in English (and probably a new one for the Chinese server too) which is always fun. Oh, and there's gonna a be a 10th anniversary concert livestream for the series too. Looking forward to that
Learning how to respond to criticism without feeling like you're being attacked is hard, but it's necessary for growth and also important in making and keeping relationships of all kinds. It's especially difficult if you have been criticized by people or culture for just existing. I'm still learning how to do it myself.
