First of all, I’m sorry you got attacked.

It’s really coming down to where you stand in the fandom. Many Larries are too focused on the big coming out.

Ever since I have tried to accept their closet is a given as long as they want to have a career. So I may as well enjoy the journey and hope they achieve whatever they want while their private life remains out of the public eyes.

This means Harry will do PR stunts. “Attention” is one of his biggest assets. If he wants to be known as an actor in Hollywood, he will stunt for it. If he wants to sing about settled longterm love he will stunt for it. If he wants to be extra queer for fashion shoots, he will stunt for it. We know the drill.

I think it is absolutely fair for you to wish for a “cool” stunt partner, someone who’s nice, someone that’s a bit more understanding of Harry’s fanbase. Who’s not as naïve to think Harry’s fans would actually believe they’re in a real relationship.

In a way, that’s what I respect about Eleanor. She’s very well educated about the fandom and she doesn’t pretend more than she has to. I know plenty of people call her out for not acting girlfriend-y enough, not showing up on tour enough, not being invested in Louis’ shows and all. Making fun of her as to say “lazy bearding”. But to me it’s her acknowledgment of the truth. She knows that we know, she’s a beard.

So the couple of times El does show up for good measure, the few people who still hold on to Louis’ straightness with their bloody bare hands will feel better about it and the rest of us - the bigger part of Louis’ fanbase I’d say- is hardly even disturbed by her attendance when she’s around. So that’s why - given the circumstances - I think Eleanor handles it very well.
