It nearly always begins with an onion, my favourite and most versatile thing for starting soups, risottos, curries, casseroles, roasting, thickening, sweetening. I like them raw and fine for a tang, soft and slow for sweetness. And they are surprisingly easy to draw! Draw a round thing. Add the top bit. Sketch in lines on skin. Shade to hearts content. Obviously unfinished but my shoulder is kicking up so I may need to stop here this evening... But, onion! #cookingonabootstrap
