Indulge in the deliciousness of a homemade chocolate chip cookie cake, just like the ones you find at the mall. This giant cookie is perfect for sharing with friends and family or enjoying all by yourself.
Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 2 large eggs. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract. 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional. 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles optional. 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius and coat a baking dish or 12-inch round pizza pan with oil. Mix the baking soda and all-purpose flour in a small bowl. Put aside. Beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until fluffy and light. One egg at a time, beating until each is thoroughly mixed in before adding the next. Add the vanilla extract and stir. Mixing until thoroughly combined, gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and rainbow sprinkles, if preferred. Evenly press the cookie dough into the baking dish or pizza pan that has been preheated, making sure to cover the sides. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the center is just set and the edges are golden brown, in a preheated oven. Take care to avoid overbaking. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for several minutes, then move to a wire rack to finish cooling. After cooling down, cut and present. Savor the chocolate chip cookie cake you made yourself!
