she's already rolling her eyes , both of them are beaten & scarred from the most recent attack on a village . neither was exactly prepared for the sudden jump , however neither hesitated to jump right into action . now, here they were , both of them hunch over one another & slowly making their way back to the order . regardless of his wounds , there was no short of energy and or vigor from him , prattling on about whatever he pleased . akin to seeing a friend that one hadn't seen in quite a while , mi kyong can only laugh in response to this . seemingly retaining his usual behavior despite what they'd witnessed . however , a part of her knew ( that facade of his , was nothing more than what it was . a mask . ). it was barely the time to critique him , for mi kyong didn't necessarily have the energy or will to do so .

❛ nothing can really get you down , can it ? ❜ his reply followed with laughter & a proposition of date , how very much like him . like a flash , a sensation of immense pain courses through Mi Kyong . looking down and seeing blood pour from her side , goodness , it'd seemed things took a turn for the worst . before anything could be done , both of them fall to the ground . Lavi's wounds as well were taking a turn for the worse , what a laughable situation . laying on the ground , their eyes cannot help but gaze at one another . pondering , wondering . did this mean death ? mi kyong could tell right away , fear . there was fearing dancing within Lavi's eyes , reaching out and grabbing his hand .

❛ don't be afraid , I won't let go . I promise , I'll keep holding on till the end . ❜ flashing him a smile , it'd seem Mi Kyong had fully accepted imminent death . lifting herself up , despite how much it hurt to breathe in & out . a hand finds it's placed on top of red locks , moving her hand back & forth . like a mother whispering her child to sleep . && with that , their eyes closed . hand in hand .

   some  survivals  are  not  without  cruelty. 

   devotion  and  its  decisive  pain  .  .  .  it  had  cost  him  his  sight.  an  ultimatum,  he  supposes,  for  acknowledging  his  own  recklessness  and  still  opting  to  put  on  the  ring  anyway.  even  now,  he  feels  the  burning.  his  left  hand  closes,  gladio  speaks.  he  speaks  like  he  has  pin - pointed  what  he’s  thinking  of,  and  ignis  wouldn’t  put  it  past  him  that  he  does.  credit  where  it’s  due.

   as  much  as  he  would  rather  not  speak  tonight,  his  voice  is  quiet  and  heavy  on  the  air.   ‘‘   i  suppose  it  will  take  me  a  while  to  .  .  .  adjust.   ’’   not  on  purpose,  he  pushes  the  tinted  glasses  up  his  nose.  an  act  of  hiding.   ‘‘   .  .  .  gladio.   ’’   he  remembers  the  words  so  well,  he  might  as  well  be  hearing  them  right  now  again:  𝐚  𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞  𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭  𝐛𝐞  𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞.  ignis  can  only  feel  the  bonfire  grow  weaker,  and  in  his  sigh  hides  the  silent  thanks  for  the  fact  prompto  and  noctis  had  called  it  a  night  earlier  than  usual.  maybe  due  the  tension.   ‘‘   there  is  no  telling  my  sight  will  ever  recover,  or  if  this  is  the  only  price  i  will  pay.   ’’    the  thought  of  secondary  effects  haunts  him  like  the  words  all  the  same.

   the  whims  of  the  ring  are,  at  best,  unknown.  ignis  was  only  the  vessel  of  their  worst.

to start off, I think Luke deserved a whole lot more then he got. he has a pretty messed up backstory and I get that this doesn’t excuse any behavior ( which ??? canons a mess I’ll get into that ) but he? does redeem himself in the end and had tried multiple times to get out of the hole he dug. I think a large portion of why he did what he did and why he got stuck doing it is his own fallbacks. he asks someone for help but doesn’t fully reach out for it. he believes himself to be undeserving I guess? of people and makes himself out to be something he’s not, a projection, to keep people away. 

in his defense he did face a lot of problems and people are shit and Percy did learn all this through canon so he is by no means unaware of Luke’s history. more under the cut.

    On his haunches the youth sits, hands folded just under his chin while bruised elbows rest upon tired knees. The training had been rough, Kakashi had been relentless in his lessons and yet this only fed the fire that burned within the Uchiha to succeed here and gain power over this jutsu. One more, surely he could do it one more time. Without shattering the rock this time.

looking back at the boy who stood in front of her , how many times must his hopes be dashed ? any semblance of hope for living a normal life to be taken away , just for the sake of a selfish mission . renzou's eyes no longer filled with the same light that was associated with he , instead , an underlying dread only remained . oh , how mi kyong yearned for those days once more . but , her eyes reflect a similar story . how lives many lives must be taken , how much longer must Mi Kyong pull the trigger of the neverending events , will there finally be a light to all of this bloodshed .

a somber smile , an all too familar expression that even has Mi Kyong herself fooled that she's deserving of feeling any inkling of happiness after everything . no , such a luxury shouldn't be given with such little regard . ❛ my heart ? it's far too tainted with ink & death , to be praised . ❜ how long has it been since you've felt anything , but emptiness . regardless , you muster all the courage you can & keep moving forward ( why , isn't it all meaningless ? ). the very fact you can even remain standing is foolish beyond all comprehension , why not simply lay down your weapons & perish ? the answer was simple .
