AVENGING WRATH

          H er presence loomed hushly over the expanse of emerald terrain,  leaves of ivory adhere to one’s form;  merely a figment of true self.  And ho-hum eyes pore over the other’s countenance unhindered by the means to seem discreet.  Ever candid, ever adamant. One must be, due to the genuine enigma that was him,  ❝       So, you are the Uchiha…❞

   ". . . Sakura."

   Eyes widen momentarily, the unexpected weight now perched in his lap tore him from the mountain of papers on the small desk in front of him. One arm lazily slides around her hip and the male tips his head forward to exhale huskily against her ear.

    During one of his few appearances within the village Sasuke declines going to consult with the Hokage and instead works his way to the small home where his beloved resides, pushing the door to the side with a slow hand he slinks into the living area and watches with a thin smile touching the corners of his mouth as she flits around busily working to tidy the home. Living with children was difficult enough, even moreso due to his absences and it tore him apart inside to have to choose between a family that he loved and seeking penance.

   Arms fold loosely across his chest as he leans up against a support pillar choosing to simply watch Sakura as she hums idly to herself. It’s risky -- should she assume he’s an intruder the end result probably isn’t looking good for him, her temper is nasty after all. Now he shrugs himself back to a standing position and slowly approaches the femme from behind. Both hands extend and run over the curve of her hips on either side. The risk would be worth the reward.

    ‘i’m a ghost in the back of your head’ — sango lost ( almost ) everything she loved with the destruction of her village. from what she heard, kohaku survived as well but he became THE PUPPET of an evil mastermind. kirara was the only comrade she had left ; she buried all her friends and close relatives with her own hands. CRUEL WORLD. she wouldn’t succumb to the call of darkness, though — she’d use her abilities to protect other people, to ensure the safety of those who couldn’t protect themselves. she accepted HER FATE — she’d probably die alone but at least, she could try to do some good first. her numerous missions led her to follow a man called ‘orochimaru’, a terrible snake she hoped to vanquish easily but little did she know that one of her former acquaintances, a boy she considered her BEST FRIEND sided with the nuke-nin in his quest for revenge. two kids sharing the same pain ; two lost souls destined to fight against each other despite a mutual, sincere affection. how pathetic.

            a  weighted  sigh  partakes  in  the  fervor  as  he  reaches  into  the  pouch  strapped  to  his  thigh  &  pulls  out  a  kunai  .   ‘  if  you  think  that  kind  of  arrogant  attack  will  allow   you  to  win  ,  think  again  .  ’   solitary  eye  glints  ,   as  his  hand  grips  the  shaft  of  the  weapon  .   an  unspoken  challenge  ,   a  promise  of  failure  .   such  pride  could  only  lead  to  his  downfall  &  that  would  prove  to  be  fatal  .             ‘  let’s  put  your  theory  to  work  ,  shall  we  ?  ’

  Defiantly he stands, arms folded tight across his chest and a deep scowl etched into his young features. It angers him to be mocked so openly by the Jounin now brandishing a weapon in his direction. He’s angry as hell and despite the boneshattering pain he feels in that tired forearm Sasuke crouches low and growls something feral in his mentor’s direction. “Don’t talk to me like you know me!” The male snarls before sprinting forth, movements blurring to an untrained eye yet he’s sure the elder will track him easily. Quick hand signs form between battered digits and a flicker of lightning blossoms only for a second before red clouds his vision and the ground seems to rush upward to meet his suddenly crumpled form, almost as if his body willingly spared him the harsh lesson undoubtedly about to be administered by the copy ninja.

          ‘  the  point  of  this  exercise  is  to  focus  your  chakra  &  to  focus  on  your  enemy  ,  sasuke  .  ’  his  words  quickly  roll  ,  blunt  &  sharp  ,  in  response  to  those  all  too  familiar  signs  (  they  promise  power  ,  refined  to  a  sharp  knife  )  .   in  him  ,  the  copycat  sees  a  reckless  youth  :  bitter  at  the  world  &  only  wanting  the  strength  it  possesses  .   there  he  would  find  none  ,   only  empty  promises  of  life  unfulfilled  &  rusted  blades  damaged  by  the  elements  .           ‘  out  on  the  battlefield  ,  it’s  reckless  to  just  attack  blindly  .  find  a  weak  spot  ,  an  opening  ,  before  going  all  out  .  ’

    “Why bother, I can kill my enemy with one attack.” All this talk of focusing and pinpointing weaknesses was lost on him, the avenger only had one thing in mind -- absolute power, raw and unrestrained destructive force was all that he desired. Focus? He was focused on one thing and one thing alone.
