Hello! I wish to learn about housesitting fic??? (I assume the question marks are vital)
the question marks are, indeed, vital. I don't even remember writing too much of this one?? according to gdocs it's from january of last year and I'm pretty sure the thought came from discussions of what ridiculous wi-fi connected/Gavinners branded devices Klavier would have in his home, and how Apollo trying to deal with them would be an entire nightmare. Basic concept was just Apollo keeping an eye on Vongole while Klavier's away, except it's also him being terrorized by Klavier's automated plant-watering devices and smart fridge and smart toaster and gavinners toothpaste
Apollo has never been to Klavier’s apartment before.
He’s never needed to, not when they run into each other so frequently at the courthouse, and when Klavier’s taken to showing up unannounced at the Wright Agency. They stay in touch through text messaging and shared coffee breaks, these days, having discovered after several much more ordinary court cases than the ones that initially brought them into each others lives that they actually get along quite well.
This is to say that they’re close enough that it’s not out of left field when Apollo’s phone buzzes at 9PM on a Tuesday, the screen lighting up with Klavier’s name:
Klavier Gavin (9:18 PM): Ach, Herr Forehead, you wouldn’t happen to be available to help me out with something this next week, would you?
Klavier Gavin (9:18 PM): My housesitter canceled on me at the last second and I need somebody to keep an eye on Vongole while I’m away at a conference

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. spread the self-love ❤
Ah! Hello! Thank you!
Time for some self-reflection, I guess...
Lucy's Five Favorite Fics (in no particular order):
1. undeniable you (the currents pulling me onward)
(T, 59k)
Kristoph Gavin is found dead in his prison cell, and Klavier Gavin is the prime suspect.
With nobody else available to defend him, Apollo Justice flies in from Khura'in to take the case--but during the course of the trial and its aftermath, long-hidden secrets come to light.
This is probably the fic I'm most proud of! I wrote this during the summer of 2020, when I got the idea that I should try and write a continuation to the Ace Attorney series that ties up all the loose ends I was so frustrated with. It's my first ever casefic, and the longest thing I've published to date, and it's been long enough that I forget not everyone knows that This Took Up My Life For Months. It's got court scenes! it's got investigation! it's got the beginning of me shipping faraskye! it's got a happy ending!
2. perspective
(T, ~4k)
Klavier Gavin, through the years.
(an introspective look at the man behind the rockstar façade)
I wrote this one in a frenzied couple hours, but it's still close to my heart and informs basically everything about how I picture Klavier. Did I do a lot of projecting? yes. Do I also still stand by my headcanons? also yes.
3. Keeping All Your Hopes Alive
(T, 3k)
After their chance to prove themselves as competent detectives with a big break in an important case goes south, Kay finds her partner Ema drowning her sorrows in their shared office. They have a heart-to-heart--which ends with Ema crashing on Kay's couch (and the acknowledgement of some inconvenient shared feelings between them).
SOOO this is one of those "scenes from a longer fic I'm going to write someday" fics. In my head I have a whole big casefic centered around Kay and Ema learning to work together as detectives roughly 6 years post-Investigations after they've been out of contact for years. I'm still super proud of this one and the mix of angst-to-feelings-resolution.
4. imperfect resolutions
(T, ~3k)
When Miles Edgeworth returns to his office to find a stranger lying in wait, this time, the shot doesn't miss.
In the immediate wake of his death, his family, friends, and acquaintances struggle with how to move on, and question whether they can leave the mystery of the Yatagarasu half-solved.
Gotta talk about this one with the recent Investigations news! A bad ending fic where AAI 1-1 goes wrong, and Franziska and Kay are left to pick up the pieces. I was really trying to capture the odd timelessness that happens when something tragic occurs, and the way you still have to deal with all the stupid little details of daily life. It's a little obscure, but pretty personal to me for Various Reasons.
5. scoop of the century (read all about it!) [+ sequel]
Working at a gossip magazine aimed at teenage girls is just a way for Apollo Justice to pay his law school tuition--until his article rating Klavier Gavin's outfits goes viral.
After that, he's got half the Internet reading his articles, and it's inevitable that Klavier finds out.
What would a list of my favorite fics that I've written be without my article-writer Apollo fic? This one was partly borne from wanting to use fun formatting on AO3, partly from wanting to explore social media and Klavier Gavin, and partly from Having A Bad Fever And Thinking I Was So, So Funny. I never expected this fic to get the response it did, and I'm 100% telling the truth when I say that all the comments and kudos on this fic made me want to write so much more for the fandom. And then I wrote a sequel, two years later! Out of the blue! And I think that one's pretty cool, too.
Thank you so much to Caddis for letting me ramble about my own writing for a while here---now I'm thinking about all the things that are sitting in my drafts waiting to be posted. Soon, I hope! <3
okay so different WIP this time--let's have some AA girls??
Maya closes her eyes, exhaling steadily. When she opens them, there’s a determined steadiness to her gaze.
“It’s not about tearing you down,” she says. “It’s…well. You don’t know what fun is, do you?”
The question is so strange, so off-topic, that it throws Franziska off-balance (again).
“I have no idea what you mean by that. Of course I know what fun is! I have fun all the time. Work is fun. Learning is fun. Dressage is fun.”
“I know you think so! I know you enjoy doing those things. But you haven’t ever just…had fun with something that isn’t a discipline.”
Franziska scowls, recalling all of Maya’s “fun” election campaign activities. Frivolous wastes of time, all of them. Who needs a campus-wide bubble fight? Who needs food trucks when there’s a perfectly functional dining hall open for all meals?
“I don’t have to have ‘fun’ in the ways you do. We are allowed to be different people, Maya Fey.”
“See, I don’t think that’s true,” Maya says, and before Franziska knows it, there’s a firm grip on her wrists and she’s being pulled up to her feet, dragged forwards into the light of the footpath.
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think Apollo Justice would like?
HMMMM okay I don't want to just make Apollo a sci-fi fan because I'm a sci-fi fan, but I think he would enjoy the sarcastic narration and short-form style of The Murderbot Diaries. Also I think he'd probably relate just a little to Murderbot's tenacity in defending its clients, considering he's got that typical Ace Attorney lawyer thing of "if I'm the one on this case, I'm not giving up on you, even if everything seems lost."
(I also think he would enjoy Les Misérables but he would never get the time to read the book and he would argue on principle that he doesn't like musicals so he just would never experience that one at all)
thank you elle for the questions!! <3
(forgot to link back to the questions last time--i'll answer these whenever I get around to them tonight or tomorrow!)
5. Which wips of the last year will you abandon/leave behind? I will never leave one behind just because a new year has started. Though, I did abandon a story this year. Unfortunately, I had to stop writing Lost Woods. I was getting too stressed out with my other obligations and I actually had a pretty rough draft from when I polished it, but didn't have the time to complete it and still don't.
7. Which work of the last year do you wish had gotten more recognition? Why do you love it? One of the ones I wish had a lot more attention was actually A Sombre Letter. I learned a lot about Victorian prosecution during my research for the story. I know first person POVs aren't everyone's favorites, but I thought I nailed Kazuma's internal conflicts well.
8. Have you gotten any feedback this year that has stuck with you? Is there anyone you would like to say thank you to? Honestly, this year has been nothing but getting advice and improvement. Joining zines and meeting new beta readers has really helped me shape me as a better writer. As for art, oh man, I have gotten a ton of advice to help improve. I got a ways (and I mean miles) to go, but my art looks really nice.

Trick or tr- (I trip on the nearest novelty welcome mat)
You look down at the welcome mat at your feet, only to recoil in horror at the sight of--
Shakily, you reach out and grasp something from the Chaos Candy Bowl, finding a scrap of paper that reads:
“...Kay Faraday?” she returned, eyes falling on Kay’s partly-obscured figure. “What are you doing here?”
“I work here now!” she replied, as Ema wound her way around the desks and chairs to place her coffee down on the desk directly in front of Kay’s, shrugging off her coat and draping it on the back of the chair. “What are you doing here? Some forensics consulting?”
The expression that crossed Ema’s face alerted Kay to the fact that she’d made a mistake, somewhere.
“No,” Ema scowled. “I’m a detective. Same as you.”
“But--what about all of your testing kits? The studying in Europe?”
Hi! Do you have a shop anywhere? I would dearly love to frame a print of your Thalassa piece from siblings week!
i don't have a shop at the moment, but i have been working on a small selection of downloadable prints (so you would have to print it yourself) and brushes to sell on ko-fi, which should hopefully be ready before the end of the month! i think i can sell physical prints as well using ko-fi but i admittedly haven't done much research on that-- if that's something other people are interested in then i can definitely sell physical prints of the thalassa piece as well as digitally :D
honestly i'm just so flattered you would want to hang something i made, thank you so much!
