... okay. i would find that weird if his fanbase was all middle aged 20 year olds but thats the problem. NO 20 YEAR OLD FINDS THAT SHIT FUNNY. its attracts an audience of teenagers whose parents will listen to his music (not explicitly sexual btw) and think that its fine for their pre-teen to go to his concert since he's clearly attracting a young audience with his actions just for him to talk about getting his dick sucked looking into a crowd of teenagers. that's weird bitch.

I really am quite sick of the controversy around the Joker movie. I am not gonna broach the comments of Todd Phillips because they are irrelevant to my point which is...why can't people just please enjoy the movie?

Yes, I understand the appeal of "digging deeper" and stripping a movie to its bare bones to find its meanings. It's something I do myself. However, with the Joker it feels everyone has been taken away with it, arguing about its massive influence and what that influence will be etc etc. But I feel everyone forgets what it actually is...a movie.

A series of pictures that move across the screen for two hours which can left behind in the theatre. The feelings, the thoughts, the actions that people have after or before it are theirs alone, good and bad. All the movie did was give entertainment.

I've heard that Todd Phillips made some comparison to John Wick series, a comparison I have also made. In my view the reason why John Wick gets away with getting the audience to support and sympathise with a violent protagonist is because it invites passive viewing. Or rather, you aren't meant to think that hard, just enjoy Keanu Reeves being awesome. I bring this up because that's what most people will be doing when they see this movie. They are going to enjoy the emotional journey of a dark protagonist as he travels down the path of madness. They are not planning the downfall of society or doing flips in their mind as to find a reason why murder is a good thing.
