So obviously it’s a Roommates to Lovers scenario
Connor and Race being lovers consists of
Tap/swing dancing in the apartment! Connor took tap briefly as a child because of Cynthia, but thanks to Race’s enthusiasm, he’s willing to get back into it. It’s a great way to unwind together after the work day
Cooking together!! Race’s oddjobs have definitely included making pizzas, working in Italian restaurants, and he brings that to Connor’s kitchen. Together, they create the perfect spaghetti sauce
Connor, staying in shape because exercise is good for mental health, doing push ups in the apartment while Race sits on his back devouring potato chips
Watching horror movies because they’re Connor’s favorite and each time Race tells him he ain’t scared, he always somehow ends up pressed to Connor’s side, peaking through his fingers
Connor dramatically singing when getting out of the shower and Race recording it without his knowledge to send on snapchat to their friends
Going out for lunch on a work day and Connor getting hot cocoa with whipped cream that gets onto his nose but Race doesn’t say anything and just lets him go back to work like that
Connor introducing Race to his parents and Race immediately winning Larry over with his accent, doing God Father impressions. Cynthia and Zoe just as quickly take a liking to him since he amps up the charm around them and acts as a hypeman for Zoe, referring to her as “Miss Zoe”

Connor Murphy is mostly recovered, in his early 20s and Successful™ working in an office building (he is either on a marketing team and makes ads/logos bc Art or it’s a publishing building and he’s a literary agent). Racetrack Higgins is a college intern working in the same building as part of the social media/pitch team.
Race is an innocent flirt with almost everyone in the building but Connor catches his attention because of how stoic he is and he decides ‘I’m gonna get this guy to crack - whether I make him laugh or make him blow up’. At first Connor’s annoyed by this Heavily Accented Boy’s passes, giving him the cold shoulder, but one day, he tries to play reverse psychology, being accepting of his compliments and Pretend Flirting right back.
Neither of them have an intention of backing down.
Little does Connor know that (ANGST) Race was a foster child and does not have a home to go back to when the school closes during winter. He’s supposed to couch surf with a friend, but that plan falls through. Connor finds him one day, the first time he sees Race upset, and he opens up.
After some consideration, Connor offers him to stay at his apartment-
[RP Segment] The signing of a Demon's contract (RP W/ Graham as Allan)
"No-NO! You can't just walk off possessin' ma brotha’!"
the mechanic grabbed the creature's shoulder, it was a bad idea but he did it anyway.
The demon paused, cracking his neck before looking back at him. His skin was blazing to the touch. As hot as hell it's self. Suddenly the creature grinned.
"Do you feel pain?"
"Huh?" Shaft turned to his hand, smoke simmering from it. He hadn't even noticed, but he yanked it back quick and held it to himself. The skin which had begun to peal and show rawness that would convince anyone of pain. he looked up.
"N…no… not anymore…"
The hand with the force of a truck piledrived through Ruben's freshly healed skin. Raw and tender it was. Organs, glans and veins parted for the solid object that dug its way up and into the torso. Shaft's eyes pulsed behind his sockets. The innards that weren't fast enough to move ripped between Karl's fingertips, and then a solid something inside him pumped for a first and last time. The dormant heart kick started … but it wasn't a beat that did it, instead it was the crushing grip of a hand wrapping his organ and flinching. Veins ripped like bloody roots, and through the blood that pored out of the rupture Shaft made out what appeared to be a living beating heart.
"God!- G-God!"
He clenched his stomach and knees buckled. He couldn't do anything to stop the blood that stained the floor, and in Karl's hand the heart continued to beat. Shaft couldn't feel pain, but he could see and feel his heart beating, and the fingers that entwined it.
Karl ran his tongue up along his forearm, tasting the stale blood with absolute bliss. He leaned his head back, his eyes closing as he savored the taste. His fingertips digging in lightly to the sensitive organ.
"Now... Let's make this a little more interesting, yeah?" He said, opening his eyes and looking back down at the sprawled figure with a bit of a smirk.
"How about I turn all those nerves back on?"
Eyes swelled with pitiful redness, the pinch in his heart was there. Karl was playing with a full deck and Shaft with a joker. The lack of pain was the only think keeping Shaft sane through everything. He couldn't speak. He couldn't speak, he was terrified and just stared at those inhuman eyes of Karl's.. and all he saw in the black was the reflection of himself.
"....N-naw... that's just not possible...."
That grin never changed and the demon, with it's free hand, snapped it's fingers. And suddenly, the heart began to beat and lungs expanded, struggling for air. The nerve cells functional once more. Should be fun to watch. He dropped the man's heart on the ground boredley and took a seat on the windowsill, ready for the show.
A snap of the fingers, all it took was the snap of the fingers to cause the most excruciating array of pains the human body could feel.
Instantly shaft hit the floor, face first. The crater in his chest splurged and splattered with a new spectrum of electric impulse. It wasn't like before. Now Shaft twisted his body as a reaction to every wound that would normally kill a man.
Old wounds from were the wolf tore at Shaft's insides sprayed fluids of acid once more, cuts and gashes felt like noting. True pain was a digestive track that began to eat at itself, one that began to erode whatever stood in its way. New rips in the system lead the acid to other organs while the pancreas excreted a burning adrenalin, but with no stable bloodstream to pump the hormone, it ran wild and did anything but numb the pain. Shaft bellowed and writhed but nothing came out.
The worst pain however…. The worst pain was incontestable, and that was his heart. A heart that beat on the floor and refused to give up, and a cavern in his chest to match. All blood was stationary if not spilling out onto the floor, and if a large enough air bubble could kill a man picture a heart pumping the gas out in the open.
A fish out of water was a term too good for Ruben Shaft, he wanted death but a curse prevented any wound from killing him.
Ramming his head on the floor, the boy had no natural instinct left in him… and then everything stopped as Ruben Shaft was left to drool into the puddle of blood on the floor simply watching the heart beat.
There and then the ghostly green pair of eyes that held a place in his skull turned to there true natural brown... a glaze passed over them and Shaft refused to move.
The demon sighed when the spectacle stopped. But the best part was. Shaft was still conscious. No matter how hard he wanted not to be. All that adrenaline would keep him awake, through all that pain. He got up, crossing the blood covered floor with minimal mess on his bare feet. He crouched down silently, lifting the dead man's head to meet his own coal black eyes. He grinned a bit, wiping the bloodied drool from that stupid face of his.
"Now... Just ask and I can make it all better." The demon began.
"Ask me nicely and I can heal all those wounds of yours. Make all that pain go away. You could live a normal life again. All you have to do is ask nicely... And sign a little peice of paper. And then... You get a regular life. Sounds nice, ay?" The demon suggested, looking over the man.
"I can be cruel, Ruben. But I can be just as kind as I am cruel. You just need to strike up the deal with me."
"So what do you say, pal?"
"Yay or nay?"
A long silence held between the two but something in Ruben tried to get out. A thought? A sound? A single murmur left Ruben's lips, it was all he could work up through the hundreds of thousands of electric impulses that ran through his shattered mind. Weather it was a yes or no was unclear, but it was enough for the demon to make assumption from, and if a contract had to be signed in blood, there was plenty to go around.
"Oh no, dear. You're going to have to do a lot better than that." The demon said with a scowl. He dropped Shaft back into the pool of his own juices. The demon leaned back on his heels, taking a seat and crossing his legs. "You're not going to make this easy on me, are you?" He grabbed Shaft's hair, giving it a hard tug, dragging him to his feet before momentarily healing all over the more recent wounds and turning off his nerve centres. "Answer me before I drop you again."
Eyes flickered from brown to green once more before Shaft fell back on himself, against the wall and to the floor. He looked back at the demon in all of it's unholy glory. Ruben Shaft held his head, and glancing at the bloody mess that painted the floor simply burst into tears.
The demon took a deep breath. "That's not an answer you pathetic sack of flesh. Now tell me. Yes or no. " He said boredley. Humans.... how useless.
"I don't want that…" Shaft's voice was filled with tears and gasps of air.
"I'll do anything! Just don't' let that happen again!" He continued to cry, holding his knees this time. It was pathetic, but it was human and shaking, Shaft couldn't even care that he looked 'normal'. He would sign.
The demon's lips curled up into a grin and he pulled a long piece of parchment out of thin air. It was old looking, even though it wasn't. "Sign here then. Your own blood will do just fine." The demon said, clearly in a better mood.
Shaft hesitated, staring up to the paper. It's single page was completely blank, or at leas it appeared blank to him. He couldn't' even read the conditions of the contract… but anything had to be better then the alternative… didn't it? So dipping his thumb into the bloody mess that blanketed the room, he shook, and he took his own lifeless blood and imprinted it like a wax stamp onto the dotted line…
Once signed, the demon rolled up the contract, letting it disappear once more. "Asmodeus, at your service. Though you can call me Prince Asmodeus, or just Allan. Allan's a normal, /human/ name." He purred, offering Shaft a hand up. Shaft, who seemed to be nothing more than a normal, fully intact human at the moment.
Shaft took the hand, but not as a hand from a demon, but the brother that was trapped inside him. He wiped his tears from his face, and tried to ignore the fact that they wouldn't stop.
"I never met a Allan I liked…"
"And I've never met a human worth my time. So try not to be too boring. Otherwise I might just tear up that contract and let you lie in rotting agony for the rest of your immortal days." Asmodeus said, wiping his hands on his pants as if he had touched something particularly vile.
"I like those scars and stitches, too bad. I can make a few more if you're too plain...."
