Brainwashing? Torture? Shady fellas greatest sin might be usin’ the ‘X’ in every goddamn thing and confusing the issue.

Team X: A CIA-affiliated, government sanctioned, Black Ops team in the early 1960s utilizing drugs, and implanted memories via other advanced mind control techniques (a la MK-Ultra) to control its members and keep its information classified. Roster: Wolverine, Sabretooth, Maverick, Kestrel, Silver Fox (and according to some sources Mastodon and Vole). Participation was at least supposedly voluntary, and the team ended with Wolverine leaving after questioning the actions of team leader Sabretooth in the field.

Weapon Plus Project: The overarching name of a series of American government sponsored experiments to create super-soldiers. These experiments attempted to replicate the success of Project Rebirth, the experiment that created Captain America, and were patterned by leader Professor Thorton on the work of Nathaniel Essex’s nazi experiments.

Weapon X Project: The tenth installment of the Weapon Plus project, only tenuously still connected to the US government, likely undertaken in the late 1960s, early 1970s. This was an attempt to create a supersoldier by strengthening a mutant via adamantium skeleton and suppressing and destroying his complete personality and ego, creating a soldier like a puppet. This experiment was carried out to completion on Wolverine, and nebulously attempted on or considered for other mutants (Deadpool, Sabretooth, other team X members). Various offshoots and copycats of this program by those formerly involved are also referred to as Weapon X. Because fuck clarity I guess.

Long story short, what was MO is being rebooted into a new setting, and as you’d expect a lot of people are using this as a “fresh start” for their characters as well. I’m kind of in this same boat; I’m not making any major changes to Padge but some continuity is being tweaked, a lot is undecided right now.

“But Mun”, you ask, “what does this mean for all the content you‘ve created here?”

I’m not gonna remake this blog, and I’m not going to take anything down because I’m immensely fond of a lot of it but from this post forward:
