âAstounding work, Dr. Greene!â
Huxley Prescott climbed out of his own van, making up for the girlâs lack of excitement at the moment with wide eyes and that overly white smile all reporters seemed to have.
âJust a little something I patched together in my⊠off hours!â Doc Greene announced, chuckling somewhat nervously. He couldnât escape his daughterâs glare, but he waited a moment for the reporter to get a little bit closer to the dish and further from them before acknowledging it. âFrankie, listenââ
âDad, are you nutsâŠ!?â Frankie hissed, âYou know Mr. Prescottâs on the search for aliens here in Griffin Rock! What about the botsâŠ!?â

The nice thing about starting an AU at the beginning of a 104-episode series timeline is that you have plenty of time to jump around and make little scribbles of how other canon events later on might have gone when you're bored
Whether it'll still be that way when we actually HIT that point of proper writing remains to be seen XD
We interrupt yet another encore presentation of the parade for this late breaking news! A dangling truck! A struggling rescue vehicle! A life, hanging in the balance!
Primus, no pressure right?
Boulder was struggling, but why Hux-lee Press-cot seemed intent on making it obvious to the public⊠heâd rather he didnât.
âDonât worry, Edgar!â Guraam shouted from inside Boulderâs cab, peering out to the driver of the delivery truck currently being held hundreds of feet above a rocky cliffside. âEverythingâs going to be fine!â
The human engineer then turned back to his cybertronian partner, teeth a bit clenched himself. âIt⊠will be fine, right Boulder?â He whispered.
Boulder grunted hard, his treads trying to dig into the pavement and at least keep the truck from sliding further. âErgh!... I hope soâŠ!â
His bulldozer alt mode was one of the stronger, heavier vehicles he could have chosen for his disguise on the island, but he was just one bot, and the laws of physics were rarely broken or dodged.
Can someone tell me why some chapters flow easier than others? It took me a month to finish out Flobsters, but Alien Invasion is moving quite smoothly--

The soul was that of a seeker, that much Chase knew. Heâd kept much of his form cohesive to his original state, though some parts had become simplified, as if he wasnât sure how to recreate the more intricate portions of his frameâ the rivets on his armor, the etched designs on his helm.
âThundercrackerâŠâ
Chase tossed the name about in his memory banks, it seemed familiar but not quite identifiable. Perhaps Bumblebee had mentioned him once or twice. In any case, there werenât many seekers on the Autobot side if he remembered correctly, so this had to be either a neutral bot, like himself, or a decepticonâs soul hiding in the depths of Griffin Rockâs power grid. Who heâd been before now made little difference though. He was a lost, wounded soul now.
And Rescue Bots helped souls like that, no matter their faction.
âThundercracker. Alright.â
He tilted his helm slightly, âDo you remember how you got here, Thundercracker?â
âI was hitching a ride on that ferry across the sea and jumped into this islandâs power structure.â
âNo, I mean⊠Do you remember how you went offline, or at least became disconnected from your physical body?â
Thundercrackerâs gaze shifted, moving to the ground as he curled up a bit more. âI⊠I tried to do the right thing and⊠I overdid it.â
âI seeâŠThe right thing.â
âHmm. Who knew the Super Electric Lightning Thundercrackinâ Punch could blast your body to ionsâŠ? I was just trying to protect the other bots on my mission and then⊠then they didnât even care.â
His frame trembled a bit, âYou give the war everything you have, and⊠everyone just acts like your life didnât even matter to them⊠I was such a fool.â
Chase sat down properly, âI canât say that there arenât sparkless bots out thereâŠâ
âPrimus, Iâm so tired⊠You have no idea what itâs like, trying to keep yourself intact across the galaxies, hopping from ship to ship, trying so hard to get someoneâs attention, just to have someone hear you⊠and nothing.â
âYouâre right, I donât know about all of thatâŠâ
â...What about you? Youâre just a little lost spark in the electrical circuits too.â
Chase tilted his helm again, â...Sacrifice as well. I gave up my energon to keep a dome up and protect an entire city from a catastrophe.â
âDid⊠Did it work?â
âIt did⊠But I paid the ultimate price.â
â...Did the citizens remember you?â
â...They did.â
âWell thatâs great.â
Thundercracker rolled over with a soft growl, âSo happy for you.â
Chase didnât speak, instead simply sitting beside the seeker, letting the quiet hang over them like a blanket.
âTalk to him. No, I donât want to talk to him. Heâs the first mech youâve had to talk to in ages and you wonât talk to himâŠ!?â
The seekerâs argument with himself was soft, but Chase didnât blame him for it. Having gone so long without anyone hearing or seeing him, of course heâd potentially adapt to thinking aloud all the time, just to fill the void.
It could be lonely hereâŠ
â...So you fought in the war, then.â
âPssh⊠Didnât you?â
âNo.â
The seeker rolled over again, facing the officer fully once more. â...No?â
âNo.â
â...How in Primusâ name did you manage that?â
âConvenient misfortune. My team and I were out on assignment off-world and were attacked by an energon eater. We survived, but our ship lost power and was lost floating through space.â
âHeh!â
Thundercracker looked away, âYou all just⊠you⊠you missed out on⊠everything, huhâŠ?â
âMost everything, yes. We were rescued by Optimus Prime eventually, but he deemed us⊠unsuitable to join the battle, so he hid us away out of sight instead.â
âHeh⊠No wonder y-you⊠d-d-didnât know m-m-myâ!â
âThundercracker!?â
The seeker cried out as his frame began to splinter, little sparks of electricity pulsing out into the dark as he curled up tightly around himself. Each pulse seemed to strip his frame of distinguishing features, ripping away his wings, his helmâs unique shape. Teeth clenched and form shaking⊠he was fighting not to fall apart entirely into fragments of energy.
Chase moved closer, reaching his hands out as his form shifted slightly, his lightbar becoming his wings and his antenna to horns.
âD-Donât t-touch meâŠ!â The seeker stammered.
âNegative.â Chase replied firmly, and then rolled the seeker over onto his back before placing his hands on Thundercrackerâs chest. âIâm going to help.â
âW-Whatâre youâUgnnn!â
Thundercrackerâs frame stiffened as Chase pushed down hard in a compression, and a jolt of blue light surged from his frame and into the seekerâs.
âHold still.â
Thundercracker started to reach out with a resistant hand, but was knocked back still again by another compression with a pained grunt.
One jolt, two jolts, three jolts, four. One jolt, two jolts, three jolts, four. Over and over.
He only stopped when the fragmenting did, and by then, Thundercracker had stopped trying to resist it. Little by little, the shearing of his features had stopped and the details reappeared. By the time Chase settled down again, Chase could see the tiny rivets and almost the peeled paint on his joints from when he was alive.
Thundercracker groaned, his teeth clenching as he finally tried to move unhindered.
âHow are your vitals?â Chase asked.
Thundercracker didnât answer or move for a moment, and then his optics widened as he sat up. He flexed his fingers, turned his arms back and forth. âIâŠI havenât felt this strong and put-together in⊠How did you do thatâŠ? How!?â
Chase smiled, âYou and I are not so different, Thundercracker⊠Iâve just had more practice with it.â
âY-You⊠You gave me some of your energyâŠ!?â
âNo. I merely filtered the ambient energy around us through me and into your circuits.â
Thundercracker grabbed Chaseâs shoulders firmly, âP-Please⊠Teach me how to do that. I⊠I havenât felt like this since⊠since I donât know when.â
âI can teach you⊠but I want you to do something for me in return.â
âAnything.â
â...I want you to promise you will not use this skill to harm the native population on this planet.â
Thundercrackerâs gaze shifted, and he pulled back. âI can do that⊠I⊠I never wanted to hurt bots, you know. In war, you just do what youâre told, even if you hate it⊠You survive by following orders. Or at least⊠I thought so.â
âA mech that likes to follow the rulesâŠ?â Chase chuckled, âI think you and I are going to get along just fine.â
Howâs it going in there, Chase?
âWeâre making progress. Heâs not acting hostile, so thatâs an improvement.â
âWhat?â Thundercracker looked around, âWho are you talking to?â
âMy apologies. I was responding to my brother on the outside. You are not the first spirit of a decepticon weâve encountered in recent days, and he accompanied me to the power plant to ensure there was no⊠funny business.â
Thundercracker tilted his helm, âYou⊠Can wander the planet without being torn apart?â
âI can, and I can teach you that as well. For now, though, I would like to find a way to take you to a safer place where we can assist you better without blowing the local power grid.â Chase looked out, âHeatwave, I need you to collect something that will store an electrical spirit⊠Oh! See if Doc Greene has an old vehicle battery.â
Youâre comfortable with me leaving you alone with him?
âI was comfortable with you letting me come here to begin with. You forget who you are talking to.â
Okay⊠Iâll be back in a flash.
Chase hummed, and then felt his brotherâs aura fade as he left. âNow, tell me a bit about how you got here. I am curious to hear your taleâŠâ

If I were to convert more bots into mosaics (non canonically but just for kicks) who do you think should get the treatment and how do you think they'd feel about it...?
