tbh given the "emotional weight" most people put behind blocking someone, tumblr really needs better content control features
the ability to mute accounts, for instances where it's not so dire that you want to block them, but you don't want to see their content show up when your mutuals reblog them.
a 'traffic light' system for blocking tags / content words. yellow would be 'i just want this behind a spoiler so i can click through if i want' and red would be 'i don't even want to see the "this post contains blocked tags" notification, just. do not put it on my dash at all whatsoever'
two kinds of tags: the regular tags we can all add to reblogs, and 'sticky' tags which are set by the op, and live on the post irrespective of reblog. that way, if op posts a fic and tags it with stuff, those tags will remain 'stickied' to the post, letting people filter for or against those tags even if people they follow reblog and add their own tags.
