Jay Shin: “Contained Element 6x6 #4”, 2009. Woodcut, 36” x 51”. Edition of 5. Available from Manneken Press. This woodcut was printed in two layers of white ink on blue Lamali paper. The image was planned digitally and the blocks were cut with a CNC router. Six 15” x 15” prints were tiled together edge to edge, and mounted to a heavier sheet of white paper to make one complete impression. The blue-dyed handmade Lamali paper is beautiful but rustic (we had to pick twigs and leaves out of some of the sheets!)
