#conservation area

I went for a walk this morning and got about a mile out from my apartment when I stumbled across a nature trail I didn't know was there. I decided to walk down it on a whim, and got to a fork which said the trail was a loop 1.6 miles in circumference; either direction I took would eventually lead back to the fork. I had only brought one bottle of water with me for my walk, and I drank it all on the outbound leg, so I decided to turn back and go home instead of continuing on the trail. Tomorrow morning I'm gonna prepare a sack lunch (a sandwich, an apple, a granola bar or two), I'm gonna take four or five bottles with me (I don't have one big bottle and I don't trust the water in my kitchen enough to drink it even if I did, so I'm sticking with 16.9 ounce store-boughts), and I'll go back to the trail for a nice long hike. I'll bring along my journal and my sketchbook and maybe my polaroid camera if I can find where I put my unopened film. I have a nice leather messenger bag that I used to take with me everywhere I went; when I moved in September I downsized and had less stuff to carry every day, so it's been collecting dust in my apartment for weeks. Today I took it with me so I didn't have to carry my bottle in my hand (I like having my hands free when I walk next to the road, just in case), so tomorrow I'll finally get the chance to use it again with a full load of supplies. I feel like an adventurer sorting my inventory!
