I went to a Oi polloi gig last night.

Everybody always worries that my life must be so limited by my wheelchair, but it's not the wheelchair, it's the people and the environment. And because the environment is almost all the time not fully accessible, it's up to the people.

When I got my wheelchair I knew, that the accessibility of clubs and concert venues is gonna be limited, but I also knew that the people I am gonna meet there are not ignorant nor ableist. And truly, I went to a gig last night and the venue was in basement, so five random lads carried me down and up the stairs, then some polish guy I never met before stood next to me the whole time so someone would not hurt me in the mosh pit.

I was safe and I was ok the whole time, thanks to my community.

Yes, it was inaccessible, but the people, the community, were what made the difference.
