STREETS DEPT CAPTURES Â DEBORAH KASS
We’re gushing over this feel good photo of artist Deborah Kass’ sculpture OY/YO. This amazing pic was shot by Conrad Benner of the popular Philadelphia Street Art Blog, StreetDept. His blog is a must-see for any street art lover.
The shot is a playful expression of Deborah Kass play on Brooklyn slang, “I am” in Spanish, meets the Yiddish expression, OY/YO.
If you've driven through the boroughs you might recognize its play on the popular land markers: "Leaving Brooklyn: Oy Vey!” sign at the Williamsburg Bridge and the “Leaving Brooklyn: Fuhgeddaboudit” sign on the BQE. OY/YO will only be on display through August 2016 - go see it in person. Repost 📷 from: @streetsdept
Today on the Field Log, a few of the most in-the-know Philadelphians show us (and you) their favorite spots in the place we call home. Founder of the popular blog Streets Dept, Conrad Benner has been documenting and celebrating street art, graffiti, and urban exploration in and around the City of Philadelphia since 2011.
