So we know that in "Waving through a window" Connor waves to Evan and Evan doesn't see him causing Connor to run off stage.

The meaning's probably super obvious but here's my interpretation of it.

Connor sees that Evan is alone like him.

So he decided in his head that be wants to be friends.

But Connor has problems talking to people he doesn't know.

So he has to build up enough courage to be able to talk to Evan.

He starts out small like when he waves to him.

And when he pushes him.

I don't think he meant to push him.

I think he was going to try to talk to him but when he got near his anxiety was going crazy and he just got scared and pushed him and ran away.

So he's beating himself up about it and he wants to apologize but he's even more scared to talk to him now

"I mean, I pushed the guy down in the hallway. I can't exactly be his best friend."

So when he sees him go in the computer lab he follows.

He's building up confidence to talk to him and apologize and when his paper comes out of the printer he thinks he finally has a chance.

But he gets upset when he reads it and well, you know the rest.

“That’s the problem,” Zoe whispers, flopping back onto her butt. “I didn’t know. And it’s not like- We don’t talk. We don’t even like each other. That’s so- I’m so horrible. He tried to kill himself and I don’t even- I don’t even like him.” 

Connor draws all of the time.

He’s not amazing but he’s good.

He doesn’t let people see his drawings most of the time but when he does he always gets complements.

Zoe loves his art.

She often takes the pages he crumples up.

He never draws anything special.

Mostly like his own shoes and flowers he sees.

Sometimes he goes to the park and just draws his surroundings.

He won’t call it art though.

“They’re just doodles”

But O H M Y G O D is he an art kid.

Giant oversized sweaters and doodles all over the toes of his shoes.

He keeps all of his favorite art supplies in his satchel.

Like even if he’s not drawing anything at the time.

His favorite oil paints are always there.

One time he just started painting right in the middle of class.
