Opening scene between Conner and Gar really messed me up 🥺
Conner is trying to cope, to process but his human emotions are soooo big and so overwhelming and there's Gar, trying to be strong and brave for everyone.
Conner's duality as both as "Super and a Luthor" are being explored in more detail.
Conner gives in to his anger but behind it is a fear and doubt. What if he's not good enough? What if he's not plain good? How could he be?
Conner refers to himself by a slur and we can see how much it affects Gar.
Conner has been agonising over how he just "wasn't good enough" and he chalks that up to bring an "experiment of the bad guys".
He's half Luthor after all. And the Luthor way when things don't yield result is anger, lashing out.
Dawn's face when she walks in is just heartbreaking (two boyfriends fighting 🥺). We see that she loves them both but ultimately she has to leave. Conner feels this acutely, he's losing people at an alarming rate.
What's worse, he's learning the hard way that sometimes the best intentions and even better options don't always save the day. And being part "Super", it's especially hard to take.
Unlikely that we'll get a Lex Luthor or Superman appearance, but it'll be incredible to see how meeting one of his father's will affect Conner.
