Now it's time for kitchens, even food, to get smarter
Jon Silver, staff reporter at the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce (DJC) covered Innit's big launch at the Smart Kitchen Summit. Jon notes that "Innit wants to unlock and listen to the information within food through science, technology and culinary expertise.” Jon further observed that, "It's been reported that a typical U.S. family wastes about $1,500 of food annually, but much of that food could have been eaten if consumers had better information. A new Silicon Valley company called Innit wants to tackle that problem with a new technology platform it's developing. The kitchen of the future could have a number of interconnected devices that work together on everything from storage to preparation. A third-party technology platform would help ensure all those devices worked together, even if they are produced by different manufacturers." To read more: https://www.djc.com/news/ht/12083402.html
INNIT WANTS TO DIGITIZE FOOD SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO MAKE FOR DINNER
Digital Trends writer Jenny McGrath covers Innit's debut at the Smart Kitchen Summit. Jenny noted that "Instead of building the oven that the chicken talks to, Innit built the cloud-based platform that does the connecting." Jenny further noted that Innit "wants to digitize food and give it a voice. Not only would your list of food help you decide on a recipe to make, sensors, cameras, and other tech in the fridge could help you keep track of spoiling food and expiration dates."
