Public-private broadband program for low-income families expands

More low-income residents will get affordable broadband after Cox Communications announced the expansion of its Connect2Compete program.

That program, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s ConnectHome initiative, provides download speeds of at least 10 mbps and in-home WiFi for $9.95 per month for eligible families.
