CONJURING 3 SOUS L’EMPRISE DU DIABLE de Michael Chaves est avec la NONNE le pire film de la franchise. Déjà responsable du spin off LA MALEDICTION DE LA DAME BLANCHE, le cinéaste loupe tout ce qu’il entreprend. Tiré d’un fait divers où pour la première fois un avocat plaide la possession diabolique pour expliquer des meurtres, le film se veut plus une enquête policière qu’un simple film d’horreur. C’est plutôt une bonne idée pour se démarquer des autres opus seulement voilà la trame est si confuse qu’on s’en désintéresse peu à peu. Mise à part l’ouverture du film qui rend hommage à l’exorciste les moments horrifiques ne fonctionnent jamais et les jump scares tombent toujours à plat. Seuls les acteurs Patrick Wilson et Vera Farmiga qui incarnent le fameux couple Varren semblent encore croire au projet. We finally had a chance to go see The Conjuring 3 aka The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It I was waiting for this one being I really enjoy the whole "The Conjuring" Universe and all the spin offs and what not its all a really great series.
I remember them originally saying something about werewolves being apart of the 3rd movie but they kinda had that as part of Annabelle Comes Home and this one is more based on the Trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson. Which is "is the first known court case in the United States in which the defense sought to prove innocence based upon the defendant's claim of demonic possession" I honestly never heard of this before the movie and it was an interesting thing to looking into after seeing the movie.
Now I did think this movie was pretty great it was creepy AF at some parts and did give me a bit of chills at others but I didn't find it as scary as the previous 2 there wasn't really any jumps or anything overly disturbing or frighting. like it did up the creepiness and and being a bit unnerving but not really scary. It was interesting tho and did hold my attention being there is a bit of a mystery in that that needs to be solved.
The visuals were pretty good especially from the rather explosive opening exorcism scene. The acting is of course amazing as you would expect as Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga seem just perfect for these characters and they work so well together
But in the end the movie was great I enjoyed it and it is a good chapter in this series and hope to see what they do next
Come home at 2 am from watching the Conjuring 3 and this is what we are greeted with.
